To my great regret, I do not even have a clue as to what can ultimately happen, because I have no idea how Ledger works, because I do not have it. But I think that if you have a device that works separately from the Internet, everything will be great and hacking you will be problematic

If you're interested in the technical details, it's also worth reading up on the Fido U2F standard: https://www.yubico.com/solutions/fido-u2f/This is basically the same technology principle that's used in the Ledger Nano S and Trezor devices. The private key never leaves the device, so it's impossible for a compromised computer (even with an internet connection) to steal that private key. The only thing the computer could do is send a malicious transaction to the device, which would then show an approval prompt so you could either approve or deny the transaction on the device itself.

Ledger nano s has the most secured features today, this is the most recommended wallet to the community,it has some recovery seed so that if you lose your wallet your holdings will be easily get recovered, even if your computer has been infected with malwares and viruses the ledger nano s wont be easily to get infected because the hackers cannot transfer your coins not without your security code and it is getting randomly change every minute.

Nope, Ledger Nano S is very secured because it is a hard ware wallet, i've been using mine for quite time and i also do connect it while my internet is not but still i dont get hacked or something, so i assume it is okay however becareful of phishing sites.
Im surprised! Looks like Ledger Nano S is a super protected wallet. But what about Trezo? Trezor also has such strong securety? These two videos from EEVblog explain more about hardware-wallets. Just note that the guy is an electronic engineer and not a crypto investor - however he takes both devices apart and expains more about the functionality and security: Trezor: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BzxGoJdd8a4Ledger Nano S: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SKWYO3Qh79AThank you! you are very kind. This information can be also useful for over new members.

I dont think ledger can be hacked because it was created to resist those malwares and viruses even your computer was infected because you need to have your keys and passcodes to be able to transact using your ledger, hardwallets has the most secured features that is why it is recommended to have your coins into hardwallets, ledger or trezor would be better.

Yes, because there is no entirely unhackable method to secure your wallet.
One can only make the time and/or resources necessary to do the hack not worth the gain.

Dear bitcoin community, First of all, I want to thank you very much for your effort in helping the new crypto investors to better understand this great phenomenon. I also bring into discussion the security of Ledger Nano S because I deposit all my crypto coins on my Ledger Nano S that I bought from the official website. So, can Ledger Nano S be hacked when is connected to PC with internet? I guess it's pretty safe and should not be hacked so easy. I must also mention that I keep my 24 words passphrase in a text document on a stick that is almost always connected to my personal computer which is also in turn connected to the internet. Can this be a risk Thanks to everyone who contributes to this thread in helping me better understand the maximum safety limit of Ledger Nano S. Your Ledger Nano S cannot be hack even if you use it often online because it needs a hardware before they can access your wallet. However Your passphrase can easily be hacked or copy if the computer you are using is always online where your passphrase save. Which means your hardware wallet is useless because the hacker only needs a private key to access your wallet. Better copy your passphrase on a paper or in your organizer and keep it on a secure place.

This is true! You can lost your coin if you lost your Backup seed! Always be careful, You are responsible for what you are doing.

I use Ledger Nano and recently I installed a special browser extension that blocks suspicious sites so I think that I'm secure as much as it's possible.

The most important thing with any wallet is the private key, and the list of password phrases.
I highly suggest you do NOT store those on a pc / phone with internet access, as they can be infected.

this is impossible because you have to confirm with the buttons on it, so you have to confirm physically.

It seems to me that Leger and Tresor is the most reliable hard wallets. There is always a risk that hackers will receive information due to negligence

I think that the biggest risk for any wallet is phishing sites, because if you are connected to the Internet, there is always a risk to go to a phishing link

It's very hard to answer this question when I just do not know how this Ledger works. But speaking abstractly, it seems to me today there are no systems that would be 100% protected although much depends on people. They are the main vulnerability

I don't think that LEDGER can be hacked if you don't press anything on the ledger... every transaction has to be confirmed via hardware...
