According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

There seems to be a lot of such stories recently with large corporations, governments, governing bodies, banks etc all looking to explore the uses of blockchain technology.

While this doesn't explicitly have to be linked to cryptocurrencies it will only help them as it will increase awareness and acceptance around the world.
