Hey everyone, I know I'm not being very specific, but that's because I'm not too specific about what I'm in the market for. I'll lay out some criteria, and if you have something that fits it, feel free to leave a post and make an offer.

I'm interested in a Windows tablet (or any OS that will run Flash + Java). I need something that is going to function with Java properly.
I'm not too picky on screen size, but I would like something that I can plug into a keyboard of some sort (to make typing more seamless). I'd like a high-resolution preferably 1080p+ (not required), hopefully 4GB RAM, something that is going to be responsive and snappy. I'm really not too picky, but I'm looking for something with a good amount of power in it, as far as tablets go. Even the resolution and ram aren't hard and fast rules. I'm looking for something that will handle internet browsing and light games, like Runescape and apps. I've got a pretty big budget, but I figured I would test out the waters here before I head to a big-box store.

Post your tablet, specs and a price below for my consideration, I'll get back to you or respond directly in the thread. If I don't find any good offers around here within about a week I will just buy from a brand name store.

Don't actually own a tablet that would meet these requirements, but wanted to give you a heads up that likely very few people will...

There are no tablets in existence (AFAIK) that run Mac OS X.

There are only a couple tablets with that much ram:
Microsoft surface pro. (Only a few of the nicer configurations.)
HP Spectre x2.
Lenovo Miix 510.

All these are likely a grand, each.

If you bumped the required ram down to 4 gigs, you'd likely have a lot easier of a time finding something.

Browsing and light gaming should work really, really well, even on 4 gb ram.
Not sure about the java requirement, and how that impacts things, but if you were to consider android, too, samsung has some really beautiful tablets that are a lot cheaper than windows powered ones.

(As a reference, I have an older samsung galaxy tab E lite running android 4.4, and browsing/games run really smoothly. That's on 1 GB of ram. But also only a hundred bucks new.)

Good luck.  Smiley

I forgot that iPads don't run Mac OSX, they run iOS or something like that. I feel a bit silly for even mentioning that, I was just throwing down some requirements that are needed to accomplish the things I am interested in accomplishing. Therefore, it's time to make some edits to OP; I've never really been on a machine with less than 4GB ram in what feels like 10-years. I honestly would not mind spending about a grand on a really nice tablet, but at that point I would probably be better off just getting one new from a store.

I'll bump the RAM requirement down to 4GB, because you're right I probably don't need that much for what I plan to do. Thanks for giving me a few tablets to look into, because I don't know squat about tablets, except that I would benefit from having one. I'll also remove Mac OSX as an acceptable OS. It's strange to me that a few GB of ram makes the entire machine so much more expensive.

I will probably have to go with a Windows OS tablet then, since I do not know another OS available for tablets that could run Flash, Java, the games I want, etc. Thanks for the heads up and tips, gonna adjust myself accordingly.

Would you be interested in picking something out on amazon or where ever and paying crypto for some one to order it for you?

I would consider that, but I have no issues with exchanging my coin into fiat and purchasing it myself if that were to be the case. So, unless there is a discount somehow involved then I don't see how much good that would be doing me. If someone wanted to help me pick out a really solid tablet, I would be happy to tip them BTC for helping me.

If price is no object, there is very little question of what you should get.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B076J91H91/ref=twister_B076L6ZLX6?_encoding=UTF8&th=1

That thing screams. I have a buddy who is a supervisor at a BestBuy, and got to play with one of these for a while. It is fast.
I mean. The tablet has a GTX 1050 built into it.

Battery life is (supposedly. Didn't mess with it that long) really good. Way better than most tablets.

And best of all, it can always be a laptop by connecting the dock. So best of both worlds.

About buying off amazon with your bitcoin.
If you do decide that route, I'd highly suggest you take a look at purse.io

They give you a discount on purchasing "amazon wish lists", by matching people with Amazon gift cards up to people with bitcoin. So people essentially would pay a premium to get rid of their gift cards, and get your BTC.

But do your due diligence. People seem to either love, or hate purse. I've purchased a thousand dollar laptop through it, and about 4 other $100+ purchases, and never had issues. But other people supposedly have.

Just more ramblings.  Smiley

Your oar is most welcome in this lake.

You've sent me into a tablet researching frenzy. I was unaware that there were two in one laptops that are basically tablets, except better in every way. Sheesh, I've been doing nothing except for reading about tablets and these two in one laptops for about a day straight at this point. I saw that I can get a manufacturer refurbished Surface Pro 3 for about $300 so I was thinking that's a pretty solid option. I was also looking at some serious set ups that have dedicated graphics cards, like you've just shown. I can't decide if I want to go more budget, or extreme, but regardless I'm still open to taking offers.

I'm shaky on purse.io, never known how to approach it, but as I said I could just use my verified exchange account and get fiat in a snap for the purchase.

This might help:

I liked the Lenovo that they showed on your link, the Miix, but the lowest price link won't open up for me. I wouldn't want to pay the $800 for it on Amazon, and the $600 newegg link is out of stock. I appreciate the link; I've done a lot of reading and I'm still unsure about what I want. I've just been reading, researching and bookmarking links for like multiple weeks at this point. Hopefully something comes along that really makes me pull the trigger.

I didn't just come up with it, it's been a couple weeks and I really need a tablet, but I understand what you're getting at. I was just feeling left out by not having a nice tablet. The versatility and portability of it have me feeling like it is needed for my lifestyle recently. No worries, as long as you don't score a better deal than I do we won't have any problems. Wink

Feel free to share any info you've come across that might be helpful or I might be overlooking; I've done a lot of research at this point, so that might be a tall order.

If you're less picky about Price and condition then I would either grab something off Ebay, or brand new from a manufacturer. Something top of the line like a Surfacebook, or that Acer tablet with a dedicated GPU, 2GB-4GB or something like that in VRAM.

I am sorry I am coming back to you after almost a week. Anyhow if you still need any help,I am willing to help you out. I like doing these kind of things,so if you can be more specific on your specs and your budget,I might be able to find you something.

I'd in all seriousness suggest you not to go budget wise but by product quality wise and by something which would give you maximum satisfaction. And probably try avoiding the SurfaceBook, they are just looting you for something that's not worth the buck. You can make 2 custom 1080Ti/Titan X custom PCs with the same budget of that of the SurfaceBook2.

I'm not really in any rush. I was pretty impatient in the beginning, thinking I wanted a tablet within the week, but now I'm realizing I'll regret an impulse buy. So, the budget is pretty flexible, I'm probably willing to go up to $1,500 for one, but that's only if it really wows me. I'm looking for a combination of product quality, price and specifications; as would seem to be obvious in just about any purchase.

It's always disappointing going the budget route with computer hardware. The SurfaceBook is robbery, 100% agree, but I would love something in that tier of tablet.
You should show me those 2-custom 1080ti/Titan X PC builds for the same price though, because now I might be more interested in that.  Grin

I have some people trying to assist me in PM as well, so we've got a crack team of investigators on the case.

Are you sure you want a Tablet with a GPU? It becomes more of an ultrabook then. If you don't want with a GPU, here's something you may like :
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B078KT6PJV/ref=sspa_mw_detail_1?psc=1&smid=A3JS2199GQLB8L&th=1
A tablet/laptop with 512 gigs of SSD, an i7 8th Gen processor, 16 gigs of RAM. This thing is amazing except for its terrible Intel HD graphics 620.
If you want with a GPU, a ultrabook rather I have something that you may be interested in :
https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0799849GX/ref=psdcmw_13896609011_t2_B076N6K19D
This thing is refurbished but has really good hi end specs. You can either get the GPU of GeForce Gtx 940MX or with GeForce gtx MX150. The latter is better and is underrated. This thing can be used a tablet too.
About those 1080ti pcs you can get it for 3500-4000 depending upon how exactly you want your other hardware to be.. But it shouldn't be that hard to figure it all out.

+1 The surface book 2 is an amazing piece of gear. Probably the fastest tablet out right now - Its essentially a mid/high-level laptop more than it is a tablet. I know you said that you were looking for a Windows tablet, but if you did want an iPad, I may be willing to part with my 9.7" iPad Pro Wifi + Cellular. Its also an amazing piece of tech and is able to do things that the normal iPad can't, such as run 2 apps simultaneously and has a beautiful screen. If you're interested later, let me know and maybe we can work something out Smiley

Are you sure you want a Tablet with a GPU?

Nope, I am not sure about really anything to do with the specs, and since I recently waterlogged my laptop it has thrown me for an entirely new loop. Plus I've been considering building a second rig, so it's all up in the air at this point.

I think that might be where I am falling at this point. I might be more interested in an ultrabook that's a 2-in-1 or whatever they are called. I'm not positive that I want a GPU, but it would seem helpful to at least grab myself a couple GB of dedicated video memory, since I plan to play some simple games on it. Cooling is something that is going to be of big concern, because laptops and tablets are notorious for not being able to handle their own hardware when it comes to temperatures. I might be going down that path of Ultrabook that is a tablet. Refurbished is fine by me, but preferably manufacturer refurbished.

Can confirm that the Intel HD graphics 620 is about as powerful as a waterlogged potato.

That's my worry, is that even on simple games or heavy applications a tablet without a GPU might struggle to get going. Potatoes don't produce good results for gaming, their GPU architecture is too obscure.

Oh you want a laptop, with some nice GPU? I have a good one that would help you, maybe:
ASUS GL503VM-DB74 ROG Strix Hero Edition 15.6” 120Hz Gaming Laptop, GTX 1060 6GB, Intel Core i7-7700HQ 2.8 GHz, 16GB DDR4 RAM, 256GB PCIe SSD + 1TB SSHD, RGB Keyboard : The best one you can get for exact $1500.
If you're not a big fan of the screen quality, here's another one, much cheaper and almost the same specs:
Acer Predator Helios 300 Gaming Laptop, 15.6" Full HD, Intel Core i7-7700HQ CPU, 16GB DDR4 RAM, 256GB SSD, GeForce GTX 1060-6GB, VR Ready, Red Backlit KB, Metal Chassis, G3-571-77QK
There are more,obviously.
Also,if you can spend more:
Here's a GTX 1080 laptop: ASUS ROG STRIX Gaming Laptop, 17" Full HD 120Hz Panel, Intel Core i7 2.8GHz GTX 1080 8GB, 16GB DDR4 256GB PCIe SSD 1TB HDD, Black Aluminum Hairline (GL702VI-WB74)

Ultrabook,you say?
Boy,I got you covered.
This one is by ASUS,has a IPS screen and 4 gigs of GTX 1050: CUK ASUS VivoBook Pro Gamer Notebook (Intel Quad Core i7-7700HQ, 32GB RAM, 500GB NVMe SSD + 2TB, NVIDIA Geforce GTX 1050 4GB, 15.6" Full HD IPS 120Hz, Windows 10 Home) - Best Gaming Laptop Computer

pugman has given me a laundry list of tablets and ultrabooks to look at, consider, compare and do all of that good stuff. So, for the mean time I am going to lock the thread while I consider these choices. I have a few people in my PM that are assisting me as well, so I will report back if need be with any information, critiques, new specifications/criteria and anything like that. I appreciate all of the help so far, but it seems like every piece of technology I come across there is something that I dislike about it. We'll see how those you've suggested stack up against my arbitrary tastes. I wish I could blow through my review of each of them, but for some reason the internet situation has been extremely rough for what feels like weeks.

Cooling is something that's a big concern of mine as well. I'm sick of ultrabooks burning me.
Going to unlock the thread, and see what anyone has to say about tablets/ultrabooks with  extraordinary cooling technology.

After looking at all of what you've presented, they are nice rigs, but they don't seem like good deals

I'll knock the RAM necessity down to 4GB, in light of the fact that you're correct I most likely needn't bother with that much for what I intend to do. Much obliged for giving me a couple of tablets to investigate, on the grounds that I don't know squat about tablets, with the exception of that I would profit by having one. I'll additionally expel Mac OSX as a worthy OS. It's bizarre to me that a couple of GB of slam makes the whole machine quite a lot more costl
