Bill,if you're buying a 2 in 1 laptop or a genuine laptop,I would seriously ask you to wait out for the laptops coming up with 8th gen Intel processors. They help to boost up the performance,big time.

I think what he means is that since you're looking for a tablet for generalistic purposes,you should consider taking down your ram requirements to 4 GB which you have already said.  I found another article, is this something you're looking for:
