i have noticed that our forum is flooded with threads that are created by newbies that post recycled topics, meaning, the topics are already posted and this clearly shows that newbies are not reading, my advise to all newbies, you must read first, learn to back read and study the threads here, do not just post. in doing so, this will prevent you from being locked out, posting a new topic doesn't make you merit-worth or rank up.

to some ranked members, we can help newbies by giving them advise to post quality topics worth of time and informative as possible, we should only reply on topics that has not yet been discussed so we can discourage flooding of nonsense threads.

if you can post some tips here for the newbies who wishes to rank up but deserving to be merited please do so. let us help each other.

some of my advise would be:

1. look for the date of which that topic was created, if it has already hundreds of replies please choose another updated topics to reply at

2. never reply to nonsense inquiry or poll that is illogical

3. learn to write in proper english grammar or at least can be understood by many

4. reply directly to the point, it doesn't matter if it is just a one-liner reply, as long as it is direct to the point, and not full of so many not so important words, a long paragraphed reply is not the basis of having a merit or just to make it look good to your campaign/ bounty managers.

That's true and I really find it annoying already. The thread's quality is low because of non sense recycled threads asking about Bitcoin's stability, how bitcoin affects our lives..the world, cashless world, Bitcoin will be alive for whatever year or in the future, is it worth it to invest or when to invest, etc. etc. Seriously  Undecided

I cannot reply to those threads anymore I'm out of words to say... Ever since I've joined this forum I see correlated and almost the same threads. Well I guess those Jr. members who goes with the flow of it- do it for campaign which is a real trash. Well as for the newbies, probably they are too lazy to browse Bitcointalk.org that's why they just ask the questions they're thinking of which is the same with the other newbies at different times/moments. It is actually hard to resolve everytime this happens... the moderators needs to work with  2x effort  Undecided  Your idea is great, but it won't totally eliminate those recycled threads, and as for (almost all of) us who's doing campaigns... it would just be a waste of time replying to those (direct to the point) since most of the signature campaigns requires certain lines or character count.

I hope there's a lot of newbies here in forum can read your advice. It can greatly help not only to the beginners as well as to everyone. Were here in forum not just to earn but also we need to learn a lot. How we can gain more knowledge if the topics recycled?

IMO, recycling will also help them gain some knowledge, as you can see with the help of the older threads they're having an idea what to do. But in our case, here on our forum it is highly prohibited, and still they're breaking the rules just to gain some activities ,which is wrong. They maybe having a hard time making some prestigious posts and it may also be the reason why they're doing such things.

For us with a higher rank, we cant just ignore this, they must be guided. But as you can see its not just the newbies whose been doing some recycled and repeatable threads some of them are on the higher ranks. I really dont know why they've been doing this as for them with such rankings higher than a Member. (Visit the Meta Section and you'll see some posts repeated also by the higher ranks)

My advise: If you see something like it should have not been posted, REPORT IT TO THE MODERATOR, even if it takes some time to be removed.

More high ranker also post  at recycled topics because of signature campaign. This will also help them to promote ICO specially for newbies but still it is just to complete their post count for their payout. They also help others to read at the right section by commenting to read more at give links regarding the discussion.

Agree mostly, but there are some exceptions to the rule... and perhaps worth noting that some of these behaviours coming under criticism aren't exactly rules but guidelines. And it's Bitcoin! There's a new guy discovering it for the first time every day. I remember, with some embarrassment, some of my early posts...

For example, I can't really decide if I want one megathread for one particular questions (I see the wall thread in Speculation as such), which probably brings up some old topics over the months, but aren't searchable any longer in the masses of posts. And when asking questions, I can't blame (totally) newcomers who might feel they are asking a unique question. There are times even I spend a bit of time digging up an old post I know I wrote to a similar topic but simply cannot locate any longer.

Replying something relevant to a really old thread could also be useful (admittedly rare), but could also be construed as necroposting.

I am more focused on point number 4 that you post. Most newbies who have joined various campaigns/bounty posts with long paragraphs because they are required to do so in a campaign that requires them to post with a minimum limit of characters per post. I would rather advise campaign service providers to make better arrangements than to apply a minimum character limit in the posts of their campaign participants. So we can not completely blame the newbies because they are forced to do so.

The speed of bitcoin transfer is very fast 10 30 minutes. In real life, it may take three working days to transfer money from one account to another, and another commission will be taken.

I don't think so....
Normal humans maybe won't have questions like: does bitcoin causes death, how to tell about bitcoin to neghbour's mother in lae and etc.
I think aim of those shitposters is to open topic from alt account and then write long posts from their paid sig campaign to make it appear like quality (some thinks that quality post = high quantity).
You can report them easily as I talked to some mods here, they will delete it.

From the past months staying in this forum i noticed that lots of old topics bump because of users who intended to rush their post are spamming this thread like crazy. And more of that threads are easy to answer if you are new comer for example the topic "what is the used of bitcoin?" newbie can answer this everyday without noticing by the mods. Today because of the merit system the race to get to the first page of the thread is like applying to a campaign. The reason is if you have an informative and accurate answer and you are on the first page the possibility the get some merits is there.

I don't understand what you mean by don't reply to a thread with hundreds of replies?

First you advise newbs not to make new threads about re-hashed topics.... Then you tell us not to reply to an existing thread with hundreds of replies... so which is it?

Both.
From the first page:
Should you leave your Formal work for Crypto  50 pages...do you think you can add something to that?
Will Bitcoin be replaced by another cryptocurrency?  214 pages....I guess it's enough already

say I wanted to talk about why Bitcoin doesn't offer enough replay protection. So I'm itching to start a new thread on that, but I want to be responsible, so I use the search function first to see if it exists... And it turns out that it exists.

But the thread that exists has 100s of replies... does that mean I can't post my opinoin now on either a new thread or the old thread?

So what do I do? I don't understand.

Topics in the development and in technical areas don't get spammed by shit posters, probably because they mistake the title for being in a foreign language.

As long as you voice your opinion in a normal fashion, with arguments and not just for liners to make your post look bigger then you're not going to have a problem with it. But it would be nice to check and see if your question hasn;t already been raised and maybe even answered before.

Do newbs get banned just for doing this? Seems unfair?

They seldom get banned for posting useless replies, they get banned usually for copy pasting and spam.

But unfortunately the forum has been infected with users like this poor fellow:
His reply fits perfectly to the topic, isn't it?

i understand, you are confused, you shouldn't be here in the first place, but since you are one of those confused newbies, let me enlighten you and help you to understand more on how things go around in this forum.

i have advised  (in my own opinion only) newbies not to reply on a hundred-replied topics, why? because , do you think all those replies are unique from each replies? since some users are not reading, they tend to post their reply not knowing somebody have already said the same thing, rule is, do not post your opinion that has already been written by somebody ahead of you. same goes in creating threads, newbies are advised to spend more time to read first.

if you are itching to create your own topic, without even checking if it has already been posted, your post will be considered as sh!t post or topic. it will be deleted and eventually you will be banned if this act is repeatedly done. try to create more timely and relevant threads, as informative as possible. scratch your itchy heads more for you to think of more current issues.

it is not unfair, the mod are just protecting the quality of this forum, newbies are pushed to create more efficient and constructive post because this forum is being plagued by sh!t posters.

and to remind you, this is just an advise, it is for you to follow or not. i am not asking you or telling you to do so.

The price was the result of an agreement between members of the community and did not depend on any external conditions or guarantees.
