The past week was pretty major for both the cryptocurrency and blockchain sector. Why? Because two big-league companies (Amazon and Starbucks) hinted at incorporating either a virtual currency or blockchain technology into their corporate models.

You can already shop at Starbucks and Amazon using Gyft vouchers:

https://www.gyft.com/buy-gift-cards/starbucks/

Buy your vouchers from gyft using bitcoin. And then spend them as you please at Amazon, Starbucks, Walmart and other places.

If you are in the UK, use crypto-de-change to buy vouchers instead:

I think they like many other companies move into Blockchain technology
but they will most likely create their own centralised ones.

I cannot see them adopting Bitcoin or Litecoin directly for example because
they are too volatile. Litecoin is the more stable of the two but the market
can move for the least reason.

In the long run, all major businesses will have to use blockchain. The bigger question is when will this happen, with which technology and to what extent.

What will make the price of the coins in a centralized blockchains less volatile compared to bitcoin? If they will create their own coin, the change in the demand for that coin will change the price too (prices are influenced by the supply and the demand on the market, and it's true for all kind of stuff, except the monopolized things).
Or, if the owners of the coin wants to influence the price, they will have to buy the coins if the price goes down, and they have to sell if the price is skyrocketing, if they don't want any volatility... This means they have to invest real money into it every time when the price goes down, but on the long run, it's not a simple solution against the volatility...

I think they will move to Blockchain tecnology, because with this technology we can enjoy much feature there.
But I think they will make their own coin, and they will put advantages at their coin which no available at another coin.

In today's widespread thought especially in cryptocurrencies talks is not so far that many establishments may seems to think that the crypto can be much greater especially in the businnes that they planned. Almost the only ways to growth faster if they get the most effective alternative method using crypto..

If they do so, I think we would have two very successful projects in the crypto market.

in my opinion implementing blockchain technology aka creating their own altcoin is not a wise idea at all. they will make things centralized and pretty limited to their platform alone by doing that.

big shops, retailers,... like these need to add new methods of payment. it would be like asking whether they are going to accept Credit Cards and PayPal OR would they create their own credit card company and PayPal website? you see when you put it like that it becomes pretty clear that they have to start accepting bitcoin if they want to get on board with the revolution.

and I believe they will all eventually do that. it is not something that you can resist forever. it may not be something to do right now since there is not enough demand for it but in near future it will be.
