Now we need to estimate the interest for this option, to make the final decision.

Why not create an ERC20 token also?

Yes, you're right, today, this is so. And those projects that want to get a number of points to their success, should use ETH. But the waves are a good platform. And I can not find, objective reasons, low popularity of this platform.
