Don' lose trust in crypto market since there is a high chance that it would repeat the same actions that you saw on October 2017 but I don't see it coming in the next 3 months. It would be hard to predict in a 6 month scale but I think price would sit to 19000$ by September the same day or 8000$. I might be wrong since this is a speculation, let's just wait and see what will happen, I made my speculation not that exaggerated because I believe markets would  have a slow rise.

I think that the next six months will be a turning point for many altcoins. Some projects will be wiped off the face of the earth, and some on the contrary will become ascending stars. It is difficult to make a forecast for all coins at once. I can only say that I am confident in the prospects and further growth of Bitcoin Cash, Zcash, Ripple, Monero and Ethereum. It is these crypto-currencies that will come to the forefront in the next six months.

I like your optimism, however, I am not as bullish.  I feel as if this market is built primarily off of speculation.  The media has done a bang-up job as destroying investor confidence.  The difference between 2012-2017 and 2018 is cryptocurrency is now mainstream.  I truly fear that the masses have been burned by the media and their losses enough to warrant a VERY cautious approach to the market that was once throwing darts.

I saw this during the dot.com run and now the crypto run feels the same.  The mania is over.  There WILL be several coins that make people 10 and 100 baggers but I believe the majority of these coins and tokens are not that far from scams and were perpetrated by people trying to get to get in on the money.

Granted the US Government prints fiat and gives it intrinsic value but that's the US government.  My fear is that the only thing giving these coins and tokens value is speculation and those "glory days" are over.

My opinion is that there is a good chance that  cryptocurrency will be good in the coming months lets say 6 months from now,  price may rise most especially for btc that i think this will hit the 16k mark.  With this, this will have an impact on the alts which will generally follow when btc will increase. With negative news about bitcoin from here and there,  I think we can expect that the rise of bitcoin and other altcoins will be slow but I am confident no matter how slow it is, it will head to going up no matter what. 3 months, I don't know - who knows? but eventually it will go up and it will be just a matter of time..

There are big difference in crypto way back 2016 and this year 2018. Before we only have few coins and can easily determine which project is a scam or not. This year it is hard to choose which one would be stable because of too many ICO scam that pops up almost everyday. So the answer oif market will ever be like 2017 is already depends on which coin are you holding.

I am seeing a lot of replies and I am thankful for that.  I am trying to decide if this market is chock full of scammers who are just jumping into the ICO fray and printing a few billion coins and keeping half for themselves once the scammed general public gives them intrinsic value OR if there are some really good companies trying to change the world.  I fear its not the latter.

I will use a company for example- DIM or DIMCOIN.  They launched their ICO on HITBTC and HITBTC botched their ICO.  Their coin when from 1000 sat to 50 give or take.  They have a Hybrid Stock/Crypto exchange thats coming to fruition some time around June or the HYSBE.  Its a great idea, in theory, to be able to trade stocks and cryptos on the same platform. This is one company that I actually believe will serve a purpose and do well.  There are SO many coins out there that to me just are total scams.  Heck DOGE coin was literally a joke/internet meme and now has a market cap over a Billion. 

its just truly mind blowing. The way I see it once the guy who is cutting tomatoes in the kitchen as a prep cook starts giving people investment advice on his coins, we are all doomed.  The next wave of investor is already here and I kind of wonder if Q4 2017 is the best we will ever see by far.  If this was such a legit tech we would still have daily runners even in a bear market.  I just dont see how this all makes sense...

This my own forecast based on what I see and prediction on the price of altcoins. This is based on the last year data and the factors that affect altcoins. For Quarter 2 (April - June): values of coin will go up and down. Many people will try to manipulate the price of the coins by providing bad news via social and mass media. I think that the market will not grow in the shortest time. Another month we will see the same figures as now. I predict the growth in May and the maximum price we will see in June. Then there will be a next dump until the fall. I think that the main growth will be in December.

A year has passed and now look on the green pasture these days. The market is looking good and everyone is wanting to see more of it.
I'm just worried and applying the famous Warren Buffett quote when everyone is greedy.

That's why this is not the right time to buy any of coin, we just simply wait it, either it will be rises so high even higher than ATH price or down again like before.

No one is stopping everybody to buy, buy if you are too considerate about the market condition. Someone who's long to the coins that he's buying won't really think about the situation because he has vision about that coin and that's why market conditions doesn't really matter.
But if you are too sensitive about it, don't consider of buying now.

For me 3 months is enough to grow an altcoins for those who heartedly holds even if the price declination was getting too stressful. Now while btc started to established a good market, I think it all worth for our patience and there's always a good reason to exert more efforts on our asset.

Good luck with the hope of getting $1 for XRP, you might not see that valuation in the near future and if you keep on waiting the price of bitcoin will reach another stratosphere by that time, the best thing you can do is to dumb that shit coin at a good price and get hold of bitcoin while you can and if you are looking for profit in the long run, bitcoin is the only legit coin you can trust in the long run.
Today we saw a good correction, we might see a range bound valuation for sometime until the next run starts and get your coins during this period if you are looking for profit.

Not only do you have a drop in income. Situation 2017 indeed many people do not suspect that all the coins can be pumping. To repeat this story I think it can not happen again in 3 months or 6 months. This process takes a long time and when entering the year 2018 until now has not happened.

But we get a new spirit in 2019 that the Bitcoin price is very high in pumping. I see that this condition makes me excited to collect altcoins. And the 2017 season I'm sure it will be repeated again.

It's an old thread, but my current prediction would be that the market will return to a general bullish position in 3 months' time, and at 6 months we will be in a period of consolidation at a higher level than now.
This is based on there being a few attempts at price drops recently, but the market has generally held quite well. So I think the case for a rise is gaining strength. But the belief probably isn't there for a huge surge, so I'd expect to see prices rise and then level off again.

In my opinion, the best investment is BTC, as the market is too unpredictable. BTC is the most volatile and stable coin. Of course there are always risks, let everyone decide for himself.
