Hi there Aussie Bitcoiners!

There will be a feature about the Sydney bitcoin community on the Today Tonight show later today (Tuesday 8th Oct). It'll include coverage of our recent 'Beers 4 Bitcoins' event which saw Sydney's first pub accepting bitcoin last month.

For those outside of Australia, the Today Tonight show is a current affairs tv show.

Can somebody record it to share with the community?

For those outside of Australia, the Today Tonight show is a current affairs tv show.

Also for those outside of Aus it is the kind of "current affairs" program that would be better classified as "light entertainment" which often includes "mostly fictitious" sensationalized stories (that are typically biased).

So I'd expect the major focus to be on SR and the FBI rather than anything of any depth about Bitcoin itself (for decent current affairs in Aus you would be looking for something broadcast on either ABC or SBS).

Of course if I'm proved wrong and they present a clear and balanced piece of journalism about Bitcoin then I would be very pleased.

Yes, I hope it's good publicity for Bitcoins and you never know, it might just spur some other businesses to take the plunge and accept BTC.

It's been a while since I have been to The Old Fitzroy, quite an eclectic crowd I seem to remember and I can imagine paying for drinks with mined coins would be pretty satisfying. It's almost free beer but not quite Wink

not a bad bit of press for bit coin but the shocking thing from that was the 2033 timeline , i previously said in another post that the 2140 timeline has been reduced and it will be reduced again so all coins will be mined buy 2020 7 years from now !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The co-ordinator of our meet ups (Jason) in the video is working on releasing the same 'BitPos' bitcoin efpos system as seen in the fitzroy pub for wider commercial use soon.

So as I predicted - stuff about SL and the FBI.

There has actually already been better coverage on the ABC about Bitcoin.
