Hello Guys,

One of my mining Rigs show only 2 of the 6 1060 cards.
I have two rigs, i was this stupid to put both rigs on the X11 algo to mine a coin.
My CPU became to hot and after this on of my rig showed only 2 cards in the device manager and 4 cards hidden with the error 45.
With the other rig i dont have any problems with mining.

What i did to solve the problem:
- Replaced all of my PCI-E 16X adapter, PCI-E 1X riser board and USB 3.0 cables.
- Deinstall all drivers with DDU in safe mode and reinstall new drivers who i received from the company where i bought my miners.
- Tried many other drivers from Nvidia to try to see more cards, with some drivers i see suddenly 2 card + 2 cards hidden.

Where I am on this point:

My rig starts up the right way only detectd 2 cards, in the Device Manager I don't see hidden cards.
When i start up DDU i see all the GPU's, the two who are working normaly i see with the GPU name, the other GPU's i see USB PCI device.

I think it is some how a Driver/Software issue.

Hope i can get some help! Smiley

Thanks Smiley

i would think it would be the pci-e connections themselves. but stilll seem like a driver issue. happens to me.  have you tried installing one at a time on their individual connection?

I’ve had this issue a few times and it can either a driver issue or a hardware issue.
First Dingle is right, it’s very useful to install each GPU one at a time. You can also try to change the riser, it happens to me quite a few time that changing the riser solve this issue.
Otherwise, I would reinstall the rig completely, including the OS by clearing the CMOS on the motherboard and formatting the hard drive. This will reset the BIOS, it’s not harmful for your hardware. The fastest way to do it is to remove the CMOS battery (you can find a lot of tutorial on the web) for a few second (and depending on the motherboard, make a electrical link between two pin of your motherboard).

This process will allow you to assess whether it is a driver issue or a hardware issue.
Could you give us more information about your hardware? Motherboard… Linux or other OS?

Find which pci-e slot and which video card you know work together and show up in windows.  Then work through different combinations of each riser/pci-e card/gpu with the one known good pci-e slot one at a time to rule out which parts may be bad. then work your way through the same way through each mbd pci-e slot with just one known good combination of riser/pci-e card/gpu to make sure teh mbd is good.  if everything is good individually then rebuild the os from scratch.  i like to get spare ssds since they are dirt ass cheap now to just stand up a new windows install and have the old drive as a backup.

And I thought that mining on maps no longer effectively. Or is it still possible? What is the profit?

One each card works fine?
It is better to check not through a riser, and in a PCI-E (on motherboard).

First you need to check the performance of each video card/riser separately, sequentially checking each of them. If they are OK, then check different PCI-E slots on the motherboard.

You wrote "Device Manager" so i guess it's windows.
To make it quick just reinstall windows on one card only (ofc in mainboard) then install all drivers, miners etc.
If it works well, add risers and graphic cards just one by one.

That is what you should do if you want to be back up and running within the shortest amount of time possible. I think you may have corrupted your OS files and Windows is easy corruptible.

A clean install of the OS, of course by taking out any money if you happen to have your wallet in this rig, just get the seed before doing this clean install and you should be up and running to the point where you were before.

Sometimes it is also advisable to look in the motherboad BIOS settings and to enable 4G and Pciex 1.
