Two questions:

1) Why did ALTs bull last March, and then also Dec-Jan? (Was it demand, manipulation, noob money?)
2) Why will there be another ALT coin bull season in 2018? (Are the conditions the same as March last year, or even Dec 2017?)

I will do my best but my experience is limited with this.

1) I wasn't here last March so can't comment on that, but from late Oct-early Jan Bitcoin went up from 5k to 20k and I would assume that some of this money poured over into the altcoin scene.
2) Most probably, but nothing is guaranteed. I don't know if conditions are same as last year but the consensus between the OGs on twitter is that it will happen. I will say about December though last year the dominance had reached a peak of 60% all the way from a low 38% (when altcoin and bitcoin pumping). Currently the low this year was 33% and right now we are at 43% dominance for BTC. If we can get above 50% I think that is a positive sign for a bull run.

Alts mirror the movements in Bitcoin. Sometimes simultaneously, sometimes with a delay. There is no such thing as alts season. There is only Bitcoin season. And probably Ethereum season soon.

Usually bitcoin has a bull season, and the other cryptocurrencies follow suit. Bitcoin doesn't follow the trends of other altcoins, that's why you can sometimes see a single altcoin in the green, whilst the rest of the market is in the red. There is no clear reason why these runs happen, but is probably due to the portrayal of cryptocurrency in the media at the time.

Normally history repeat itself, but this year is very different because most of the countries has regulated cryptocurrencies that is why the expectations didnt happen accurately, previous year cryptocurrencies didnt receive regulations that is why the market has patterns.Experts says it will be an altcoins year so it means the market will have more sideways.

I think last march we weren't coming off the back of such a astronomical run up. You are right in in questioning if this is due to newbie money. Id probably say it is this yes coupled with allot more negative news than we has at the start of last march. However I actually think march so far has been good. I consider today another healthy correction
