And all these labels...that kills me. There is no "us" and "them", or "left", "right", or "center". Libertarians aren't the only people who hold the bitcoin ideology up. I'm certainly no libertarian, or democrat, or republican, or socialist. I'm a guy who wants to better the future of our country, of bitcoin, and of the lives of each person in our country. I won't treat "us" any different from "them".

The funny part about the whole vote for me for president and I'll...
The president doesn't make the laws. You're talking the wrong branch of goverment. Unless you have a majority of people thinking like you in congress, it will never happen. Even when they have the majority they still can't get stuff done. And look where we are at today.

That's something a socialist would say. So by saying what I've said you think I'm demonstrating any of the following: 1: any of various economic and political theories advocating collective or governmental ownership and administration of the means of production and distribution of goods 2a : a system of society or group living in which there is no private property b: a system or condition of society in which the means of production are owned and controlled by the state 3: a stage of society in Marxist theory transitional between capitalism and communism and distinguished by unequal distribution of goods and pay according to work done I'm not saying everything should be government controlled, nor am I saying that there will be no "private property". And currently, it looks as though (by the 3rd definition) we're already in a socialist state by the fact that the harder you work, the less you get paid. Look at welfare recipients who take advantage of the system. More kids + No Work = More $$$...

Why you don't want to spread bitcoins through a more established party? You know it has taken decades for the libertarian party to get to where it is. Politics is slow. Just sayian.

Yep. The idea that someone could become President (obviously the OP has a zero percent chance of becoming so, but this is all a theoretical thought experiment) and then singlehandedly declare bitcoin the national currency is hilariously naive. The President is the head of the executive branch of government. He is not America's king.

I am aware that "singlehandedly declar[ing] bitcoin the national currency is hilariously naive" but my point is more to stir the pot and see what bubbles up. I know it would, quite literally, take an act of congress to do this...and we all know that congress is currently unable to do anything. What about my other statement of limiting all politicians to no more than 2 terms? I'm sure that's a pipe dream as well because it would have to be voted on and "ain't nobody got time for that", to put it eloquently. I guess the best thing to do would be to replace 535 backwards thinkers with progressive (and by this I mean people who are willing to create change and be open to learning new things, not the republican's horribly negative view on forward thinkers), young, and enthusiastic people. Guess we need 535 bitcoiners to run for those positions.

Find 535 progressive, young and enthusiastic people would never be a problem. It's getting them elected that becomes unrealistic.

Leaving aside the whole issue that it's pretty much impossible to get elected president in any party other than a Democrat or Republican, you do know that this idea is absurd, right? Don't get me wrong, I love bitcoin, but it's no where near ready to be the official currency of the United States. Given time, with luck, it should eventually get to that point, but it's way too volatile right now to actually be any country's national currency. But I seriously doubt 7 years is going to be enough time for Bitcoin to get to that point.

How do you plan on getting around the electoral college? Since, y'know, Americans don't actually vote anyway, they just recommend.

That's something a socialist would say. This attitude is precisely why the majority of the world is pissed off at Americans, people can only ever fit into your extremely narrow view on the world, you probably think Europe is a country don't you? That said, I could respect that post if I just got flame baited but there are people who actually believe that sort of bullshit .

No thanks, I'd rather vote libertarian.
So based on that statement, you don't care what I represent, you just want to make sure I have the right title? Something about a book and it's cover come to me here... No one has any idea what you represent. No background, no credentials, no platform, nothing but "I'll proclaim Bitcoin the national currency, vote for me!"

Yup, but the old fucks get voted into office by the young whippersnappers...they do understand technology. Gotta get the kids out to vote and replace old, used up blood with new, fresh, intelligent blood.
