Unlike traditional banking where clients have only a few account numbers, with Bitcoin people can create an unlimited number of accounts (addresses). This can be used to easily track payments, and it improves anonymity.

New myself, but the biggest thing is to keep it simple.  Decide if you want to trade or invest and stick to that at first.  Slowly branch out from there.

I've added links to each book below. All are available in digital format via either Kindle or Audibly. With a bit of careful account management you could possible download them all for free using 30 day free trials (but you would need to make sure you cancelled them in time or your would be charged  Grin)

Thanks for suggestion here guys. What I am doing now is reading a lot of material with topic of Blockchain and Crypto. I need to understand first the very foundation of it. That is what I am doing right now. I never think of investing so early in the market as of now. Learning first before action.

Yes Digital Gold is an excellent book to get started with for sure.

Plenty of great information on this forum, after all it was started by Satoshi himself!

Best advice for newbies, don't leave your digital gold on the net or any exchange, but HODL it in a paper wallet or hardware wallet such as Trezor.

If you buy anything in here with BTC always use escrow! Better safe than sorry!

Best advice is:

1 Do your research
2. Do some bounty hunting as you won't be losing any of your own money
3. When you have some funds, take part in ICOs
4. Stay safe, get cold storage for your crypto and have Metamask for accessing MEW
5. Keep your computer clean - don't visit dubious sites
6. Help others out without being taken advantage of
7. Learn and continue to improve
8. And,oh enjoy the ride :-)

Hi there!

A really great exchange I've found for beginners trading is Covesting.

Covesting (https://covesting.io/) is a new exchange and trading platform, that leverages all the highest grade essentials you expect from the best exchanges, but they've made it much more intuitive and easier to use.  Additionally as a novice you can copy-trade and partner with experienced traders while your learning.  Some traders will offer their portfolio and success rate so that you can see and decide whether or not to copy their trades.  The site also has a ton of additional tools and features to educate users.  There is a section called "crypto intelligence", where you can find expert tips, trade ideas, latest relevant news and articles, as well as educational resources and technical analysis lessons.  I believe they will be introducing a podcast also.

If you're a little apprehensive about the safety and security, this platform is DLT licensed - registered under Gibraltar jurisdiction which follows the most rigorous KYC policies.  Assets are protected by the majority funds being held in cold storage, meaning only the necessary funds are accessible for immediate transactions. There is also 24/7 online support for any quires you may have while starting out.

As you develop your trading skills, you can then decide (if you wish) to share your trades and gain followers so that you may benefit an additional 18% profit - per follower from your successes and gained knowledge. So, not only is it great for beginners, but the professional traders and everyone in between. The platform is so new that it's currently in is beta version, however is due to launch this quarter.  Basic functionality is usable now, and is a great opportunity to prepare for the official launch.

Anyway, that's my tip for getting started with trading. I believe it's the most secure, educational and performance enhancing way to learn and grow that I've seen so far.

Enjoy and best if luck!

Nice share of information for newbies. For me, what I can advise to newbies is to learn first before investing. It pays to study the project and its chances for its success before putting in your money. Also, invest only what you can afford to lose.  Smiley

I would add: Do your own research and dont invest when people tell you too, there is always personal convenience in those recomendations. If people tell you to invest in a coin, that is problably because he or she owns that coin and want it to worth more. Also be carefull with big bumps, and never trust that youtubers that tell you that a particular coin will grow a lot.

Wow. That appears to be some quality and detailed advice there. It's good to see that people are willing to help here. I will surely check out those books and videos. Apparently, to grow in anything, one must be willing to acquire knowledge upon knowledge. I think there's a certain misconception many who decide to do BTC have. They think it's magic money. Thanks once again!

My advice to newbies would be that always be in the loop about what is happening in the crypto realm. It's a comparatively new kind of currency in the  market and with new technological developments (read blockchain, etc) taking place almost everyday and fluctuating govt stance on cryptos, it is bound to effect your darling coins too. Understand what you are getting into before you put your hard earned money at stake. Just because it is big these days doesn't mean it is necessary for you to invest in it! Smiley

These resources would definitely help anyone to understand more about Bitcoin and the crypto industry but I would recommend starting with the beginners and help section where a newbie can find solution two most of his queries as a newbie. The best advice to the newbie is to invest his time before investing his money and exploring the topic in deep.

I found the following resources from Jameson Lopp very useful to get started.

I also recommend reading The Bitcoin Standard: The Decentralized Alternative to Central Banking
by Saifedean Ammous which came out this year and is less technical.

Also watch Andreas Antonopoulos, he is a great public speaker who knows a lot about the subject. Here is another educated playlist.

I have read Nathanael Popper - "Digital gold" (bitcoin history) If not to be verbose, then it is the book me have entered into the cryptocurrency world. A blockchain, bitcoin and all the rest has begun just with this masterpiece, I won't be afraid of this word. She has really informed me on what I had to know entering all this system. I have given really necessary to information which has influenced me from the different parties. I have allowed to rethink and understand correctly some terms and nuances. Probably the most important is that she has shown me history.

"Mastering Bitcoin" by Andreas M. Antonopoulos is quite technical and may be overwhelming for someone who is not a programmer and new to the cryptocurrency space.  I would recommend his other books to start: "The Internet of Money Vol. 1" and "The Internet of Money Vol. 2".

I'd always say do your research and read widely. Don't jump in and buy the first altcoin your read about. Build your position in BTC as this is the ultimate defensive play. Trade a few select alts and run the profits back into btc.

Prepare to be in the space for the long haul and take a long term view. Now is a great time to get involved as its the bottom of a bear market and so there's a great chance for the market to go Northwards.
