In the interest of releasing this to the public quickly, we are proud to announce our Beta launch of Debit Cards that will work with ATM or POS terminals in Canada and even some internationally! For faster withdrawals you can now sell Bitcoins for CAD and then take out the cash at ATM's! There is a one-time fee of $10 to have the card mailed to you, once you have the card there is a low administration fee of $1.50 to add funds to the card. You must have VirtEx CAD to withdraw to this card and you must be cash or online verified but no bank account is required. Loads are performed once per business day at 5PM(MST) starting tomorrow.

this is pretty cool, but are their any plans on making it hold a BTC balance that is automatically sold when we make a purchase?

not that i'm not happy with this new withdrawal method, I will be signing up for this shortly, and I'd like to thank you for making this possible.

but you know, an account that holds BTC which can be spent in $$ would be CRAZY COOL, so just wondering if you have given that any thought / what are the pitfalls when trying to do such a thing? seems like you are 90% there, the process simply needs to be automated.

you know i say that, but i find myself thinking, i might want to sell off the coins myself to get a better price, than an automated system that sells at market could get...

Like you, we would prefer to provide debit cards without verification, however, this is not possible at the present time.

I ordered one yesterday. Just did a small withdrawal of the minimum $20... just so I can have the card in my possession for for future use. I'll keep you all posted.

I did the same Monday. Can't wait to receive my card! I hope there is a nice bitcoin and Virtex logo on it so I can show it off to all my friends

No logos on the cards to begin with at the request of our banking partners. Hopefully in the future.

It would be amazing if you could negotiate a special deal with the Bitcoin ATMs that are supposed to be coming to some Canadian cities later this year.

It depends on the number of people requesting verification. When there are rallies like the one we had last week, there tends to be flood of new verification requests, which can cause minor delays.

Great thing... is there a possibility to have such card for Euro or USD too? A virtual card would be enough already too.

And it isnt including debts, only the money you load into is available right?
