This latest move from Walmart is really encouraging. This along with their earlier announcement about using the blockchain to better manage the grocery supply chain and improve the safety of their foods is really establishing a credible commitment to using the blockchain more widely. Hope they're willing to move from the exploration to the deployment phase quickly.

It is no surprise that such giants as Amazon and Wallmart are applying blockchain technology to their business models. They try to make it more efficient and up-to-day.

I could remember that i also once read it that Walmart and a group of food giants are teaming up with IBM to explore how to apply blockchain technology, also known as distributed ledger tech, to their food supply chains. These companies see blockchains as an opportunity to revamp their data management processes across a complex network that includes farmers, brokers, distributors, processors, retailers, regulators, and consumers.
This will definitely help in fast and easy investigation of food-borne illnesses.

Great news, I hope they also start accepting some cryptos for payments for goods and services. Or even go as far as launching their own Coin or ICO. It will be good for the crypto world.

Lots of corporations are starting to explore blockchain technology now which is at its core a good thing but it's a shame that for the most part they are doing so without the use of a cryptocurrency behind it. At least it will show acceptance and the benefits to others who may follow their lead but use something that is requiring a cryptocurrency.
