I'm new. New to both the forums and bitcoin. I have opened my first BTC account on coinbase.com. Any suggestions for getting started or using a different online wallet?

With the recent hack problems with blockchain.info, I think your best option is inputs.io.

coinbase.com is fine if you using the BTC for buying stuffs/services. If you plan to dont use the BTC for longer period, use Bitcoin-QT wallet on your computer.

Coinbase has advantage you can fund it easily. But withdraw it to your client like Electrum (Bitcoin-qt, Armory) as soon as possible.
