Before i start, i will like to state that this post is not in anyway trying to oppose the merit system.Just trying to get some views about it.
It has been a month and some days now since the merit system was introduced by the forum leaders. So what are your opinions about the system so far, based on these points?

1. At your current rank, and with the merits you have so far, do you think the system is working perfectly for you?, or you think it should have been better at your side?

2. For Jnr.members like myself, the journey to become a member looks nearer as far as we continue posting according to the forum standards, but as a member, full member, snr member or a hero member, do you have the hope of getting the required merits to rank up soon based on your observation so far? or does the journey seem impossible to you as it stands?

3. Merits are to be given to good content posts and to help rank up, but ranking up is the most important thing. So do you think legendary members still need merits? Its obvious that they write good quality posts, but do they actually need to be merited?

4. I have the view that most of the smerits(spendable merits) of the forum will one day decay because people either feel reluctant to give merits or deserving posts are not being seen most of the time. And moreover, everyone is busy running their duties on the forum and might not have enough time to look for such posts.

5. So far and ultimately, who do you think the system will benefit the most? Highly ranked members with alts accounts, or minnows who write their brains out in order to be merited?

I think this topic belong's to Meta, by the way back to the topic.

1. At your current rank, and with the merits you have so far, do you think the system is working perfectly for you?, or you think it should have been better at your side?
Yes, the merit system is working perfectly not only for me but for the forum because it lessen the trash post made by other people who just abuse posting shit post for their signature campaign.

I think yes they do aside from those high rank shitposter its the end of their rank.

3. Merits are to be given to good content posts and to help rank up, but ranking up is the most important thing. So do you think legendary members still need merits? Its obvious that they write good quality posts, but do they actually need to be merited?
This is a good question Im thinking on the same way, maybe they dont need merit but they DO need sMerit to merit those lower rank for their good post.

4. I have the view that most of the smerits(spendable merits) of the forum will one day decay because people either feel reluctant to give merits or deserving posts are not being seen most of the time. And moreover, everyone is busy running their duties on the forum and might not have enough time to look for such posts.
It will not decay bro and if that happen's we still have those merit sources to fill the circulating merits, admin knows more than us trust them.

5. So far and ultimately, who do you think the system will benefit the most? Highly ranked members with alts accounts, or minnows who write their brains out in order to be merited?
The system benefit the most is this forum and its community so therefore its us.

Yes. It's working just fine. There was a problem with people starting accounts merely because of the assumption that money can be made at higher ranks...without any effort to get there. This system fixes that.

As a Hero Member, I have less chance of ranking up than any person below me, that's because I have at least double the merit points to earn before I can earn the rank of Legendary.

3. Merits are to be given to good content posts and to help rank up, but ranking up is the most important thing. So do you think legendary members still need merits? Its obvious that they write good quality posts, but do they actually need to be merited?
Ranking up is not the most important thing. Anyone who believes so is here for the wrong reasons.

4. I have the view that most of the smerits(spendable merits) of the forum will one day decay because people either feel reluctant to give merits or deserving posts are not being seen most of the time. And moreover, everyone is busy running their duties on the forum and might not have enough time to look for such posts.
I agree, in fact I've written threads about how the merit economy is going to contract as the merits available to spend become centralized among fewer and fewer people.

5. So far and ultimately, who do you think the system will benefit the most? Highly ranked members with alts accounts, or minnows who write their brains out in order to be merited?
It'll benefit everyone who's already been here and who want to be here for the content of the discussion.

1. As a Legendary, the only benefit of merits for me is that I have more to give to others. I wish the merit system would reduce the number worthless posts, but it hasn't so far, though I suppose that the situation would be worse now without it.
2. N/A
3 I'm surprised by the number of merits I have received, but I'm glad people like my posts. I don't think people should get merits because they need them. Nobody really needs merits or ranks in order to read and post.
4. As the initial allocation of smerits gets used up, merited posts will become more rare.
5. I think everybody benefits the most, but members trying to make money by posting will be hurt.

I can see its trully working for you,but some of us still cant figure it out.Probably its too early to think that way, but i think it will take me longer than i thought to be a member.Am still hopeful though. Grin Grin .But be honest with this one, do you see yourself becoming a full member soon, even though your merits are growing at a faster rate?

It is still a relative new addition to the forum and there will be some kinks that needs to be resolved over time.

I think it was a exellent idea to adress some of the problems we had with some shitposters and also to reward the people who are contributing constructively to the forum. Once you reached Legendary, you did not have any motivation to achieve exellence, but with this merit system you have something new to motivate you.

Some positive spinoffs was this :

~ Some signature campaigns give higher payment for people wth higher merit.
~ Sockpuppet accounts can now be traced, when they are used to merit primary accounts.
~ Members can now motivate their constructive value that they add to the forum.
~ Newbies can use merited post as a example of contructive posting. <educational tool>
~ Shills and trolls will not reach Legendary status.

I think there are more possitives than negatives with this new system. ^smile^

Your question makes me laugh, to be honest I don't see myself becoming a full member "soon" I think my merits are not growing that fast many members here got more merits than me, its because they have better knowledge and experienced than me.

Merit has certainly become a super rare commodity. I feel with the new system it is almost impossible to acquire the quantity of merit required to rank up. It will take years of high quality posts and people who appreciate those posts enough to merit it. It is like donating 50 BTC to become a VIP - almost impossible for most of us at this stage. That being said, making it too difficult to acquire merits might have the opposite effect of what's aimed for, namely quality posts. When it is too hard, instead of worrying about merits, folks will probably just post away and worry about quality later or not at all (or use the time to complain about the merit system or think of sneaky ways to get merit - fast ways to get negative trust ratings pretty fast). Anyway, my two Satoshis.

Yh. Merit is becoming rare and rare as the time passes by.I remember getting my merits a bit long ago, when i didnt even know how to respond appropriately to posts like i can do today, but i hardly get one these days.

Hahaha.i think i shouldnt have used "soon" in my question. Grin Grin .But i see you are optimistic of becoming one oneday. But being at a member stage is what some of us dream about, nothing else. You know why? because earning 90 merits from posting alone will likely take me decades, but i wont relax though.I will continue doing my best and will see what will happen.
