How come some of the users of the forum have a highlighted ignore button (as seen in the anonymous user's post above)?
Is it possible for anyone to get one? If so, how can I get mine?

The Bitcoin software, network, and concept is called "Bitcoin" with a capitalized "B". Bitcoin currency units are called "bitcoins" with a lowercase "b" -- this is often abbreviated BTC.

Yeah it's rather easy in fact. All you have to do is be a dick so everyone ignores you. When that happens, your ignore button will be highlighed.

No kidding! Cheesy

If a high enough percentage of "very established users" Ignores you, your Ignore button turns yellow (the more of those members ignore you the darker the button gets).

Some more info (though I'm not 100% sure whether no new changes where introduced by theymos):

Yeah, you can troll, submit posts of very little value, or otherwise annoy people or break one of the few rules that there are to follow, but in some extreme cases you risk getting banned so it's not something I'd recommend  Wink

That won't work. What you want to do is speak the truth that nobody wants to hear. That'll get your ignores up fast. I got most of mine during the pirateat40 fiasco. Cool No one wanted to hear about that being a ponzi.  Cheesy

Your not highlighted thus far.  At least that's something. I wasn't aware of this feature.

Intresting question: I cannot ignore myself so I not able to knows if there are people ignoring me.
Am I clear too?

I don't see any colors.

You generally have to post some pretty ignorant stuff to get ignored, IMHO. When folks are trolling, it's easy to disagree and try a few reasonable responses to see how serious they are, but when it becomes clear someone's trolling for the sake of trolling, I'll add them to my list. I'm not sure that an ignore from any one person has that big of an effect, though, honestly. Most people think folks ignore because they "disagree" with them, but the reality seems to be that those people getting ignored are really posting crap that contributes nothing to a discussion. I don't want to see "LOL, THERMOS U SHOULD SPEND THE FORUM'S BUTTCOIN ON SECURITY!" any more than the next person. Even the SA posters can be funny sometimes, though the funny-to-noise ratio of the goons can be just as bad as the signal-to-noise ratio of the newbies.
