Hello! I'm currently using a GTX 970 in my gaming rig to mine XVG & BTCZ. I have a spare rig (my old rig) with a R7 240 2gb (which can't mine) and I was wondering if I should purchase a GTX 750Ti for it to mine with. I have come across a GTX 750Ti for £55, is it worth buying this? What coin would be best to mine with it and how long would it take to get the £55 back?

Nah, GTX 750Ti gets you couple of cents per day if mining. Also, you have to take electricity cost into account. For me GTX 750Ti (with kW/h being 0.13eur) nets in 5-10 cents a day Cheesy.

If you have a small budget, it's better to buy at least gtx 1050 ti 4GB. Not a bad option for price and quality. But 1 video card will not give you anything)

You can get 250+ on cryptonight with a GTX 750 Ti. That's about $0.29/Day before electricity costs. If you have a PC that is already on and running around the clock for other reasons then it may be worth it, but I wouldn't run the PC just to mine with it.

Not high hashrate for gtx 750ti to mine other algorithm, I also suggested cryptonight, it is much better with the hashrate compared to others. You may check it at whattomine.com

I have a couple GTX 750ti in my mining rig for x16R mining Ravencoin. Getting 2.3Mh/s each.
https://myrandomtechblog.com/cryptomining/mining-x16r-ravencoin-with-a-nvidia-gtx-750ti/

Haven't really looked into my power costs on the GTX 750ti cards specifically as I am not in it for profit, just playing around with them right now. I think they spec at 65 watts.  But they are really cheap used and I thought of just making a rig of 6qty  750ti's for fun, and it would be getting about the rate of a single 1070ti :-) . I see them for sale cheap used in my area and might try to get a couple more.  Good luck if you try it. Hope it works out for you. I wonder if those PC recycle places get them, would be nice to get a couple more free ones.

Really? At the current market, you expect to get back £55 from mining?
I don't think GPU miners now mine only for profit since the profit is really bad. I'm still mining but more like a hobby and to get shitcoin easier than to deal with the exchanges.

I mined also with a GTX 750 Ti. It works very well and you can get used to mining, but as many others already mentioned the profits are currently too low.

According to whattomine.com the best option would be monero and you will get ~20 cent per day.
