Crap, I got overbid.

Winner: Save yourself a ton of pain - look for the service which fixes PS3 consoles, they have the gear to put the port back. I found a local place who told me they will do it for $20 including the port connector.

Winner: Save yourself a ton of pain - look for the service which fixes PS3 consoles, they have the gear to put the port back. I found a local place who told me they will do it for $20 including the port connector.

I have a SMD re-work station and all the necessary tools/equipment, just need to order some solder paste since I'm out at the moment, but thanks for the tip, shouldn't be too much of an issue to fix, hopefully.

Got it today... not sure who was trying to fix it last or why they put so much effort into obviously trying to solder the 4 corners, but glued the corners down, fixed the 2 out 5 pins on the usb... and it's hashing away.

lol, from the look of the original pic, it looks like someone ripped up one of the board trace.

they did, actually two... there was a faint sliver left of both of them, enough to solder on to.

I'll try to get some pics up shortly, I put it back to the original (not using the aftermarket fan), so I'll have to take it apart again.
