Hey,

Can I mix nvidia and Nvidia  Card on the Asus z270a easily?

Can I add 3 1070 GPUs directly on the board without issues? What are the advantags/disadvantages of putting the cards directly on the motherboard?

Even in the event that an attacker gains more than 50% of the network's computational power, only transactions sent by the attacker could be reversed or double-spent. The network would not be destroyed.

yes, you can mix into a single Motherboard. for mixing AMD and NVIDIA must using two mining software different. have issues with settings a bit complex and can't modifying hashrate especially NVIDIA.

May you mean AMD and NVIDIA.
Because of the space between the three socket PCIe 16x on that board far enough, you can add the three card directly to board without using Risers.

Can I add 3 1070 GPUs directly on the board without issues?

Yes, you can mix both AMD and NVIDIA on one board, for better mining process, use two different mining software to handle each type of cards. But not too easy to do it.

Advantage of putting the cards directly on the motherboard.
-You would be cutting some cost to buy a Risers.
-You will save PSU cable socket (SATA, MOLEX, 6PINS) for powering the Risers.

Disadvantages of putting the cards directly on the motherboard.
-Those cards will get in the way other PCIe (PCIe 1X) sockets near the card that plugged.
-Will heat faster, because of cards position close to other components on the mobo that the same produce a heat.

If you want to have a shitty time for next 3 hrs, do it Smiley

Maybe you will make it working in the 1st try, but you may have problem in a day or a week. I was messing once with mixing the cards together and never again.. They are not worth my nerves.. It's better to spend those 500$ to buy all equipment... and have it for future Smiley

Short answer, yes. However, you could experience strange compatibility issues just as easily. I have heard dozens of stories from miners regarding mixing Nvidia and AMD cards on their rigs without a problem; they mine good, they work exactly as intended and the only increased complexity is the usage of another piece of software to control them. A very wise man once told me that mixing the cards in this manner is unnecessary and is endlessly more likely to result in failure when compared to a homogeneous rig of only one manufacturer. As someone else mentioned, about 99% of the time it will work properly, but that 1% is significant when considering I have never heard of compatibility issues from homogeneous rigs.

Your thread title is Nvidia/AMD card mixing, but here in the thread you are asking if Nvidia + Nvidia is okay. I'm assuming this is a typo, but if I have missed something then please inform me.

thanks for the answers!!  I mixed cards and particularly a Rx570 made my whole rig unstable and it also did not hash higher than 18 mh/s with 10 different bios mods...
Nvidia are really reagiert to set up.

However, I want to use another software for my Vega 56, which is the only AMD card then.  I am using claymore now and hast eth in solo mode. I read XMR does much better with the Vega 56, which software should I use next to claymore?

btw, msi afterburner often had a huge lag and I am not sure if that is due to the 4GB RAM (VIRTUAL MEMORY Already 24gb). The Celeron 2.9ghz does not really seem to work fast with claymore and clicking software open all the time.  The usually do not crash but it will take 30sec to load...I am also not unsure if I overlooked one card / reducing TDP too much so that it leads to those lags.  Is 4GB sufficient for a 6 to 9 GPU rig with that board?
now 2x 1060, 2x 1070 and over Vega 56 are running on the board. With rx570 plus sapphire 8gb micron in addition,  it always gave me a DAG puffer error and it hashed awefully low, so I removed it for now.  I may send it back. Out f the box it hashed 14 to 15 mh/s, I don't believe that is normal at all...Opinions?
