Monero - a Cryptonight coin. There are more of CN coins that are more profitable than XMR. Go and search Wink

Are you mining with CPU or GPU rig?
If with CPU, Minergate is fine. If with a rig, go find a pool for this coin and start mining.

Good mining software for Cryptonight:
Just search from Google "Cryptonight miner" and choose one. An easy one is Claymore's CryptoNote miner (for AMD).

Mining pools The ones who agrees to share block rewards  as I read before.

So here Antpool- I dont think anymore if  this one is still rolling and working because it is under China.

Slush pool- can't say why you should pick this never tried it but well it has a nice background. To know more just try it yourself go to youtube and see it.

Here note that I am not a miner but someone I know that is related to me is a miner he suggested that

Nice hash and here are answers or knowledge that you want to know so read this one.

I've heard that a lot of hackers have taken control of some of the computers that use the CPU to dig this coin, which is really fun.

Cryptonight Algo(like Monero) aint that good for Nvidia as Amd is.

Go to whattomine and get some inspiration.
Other way would be to check for Benchmarks @ google like
"NVidia 1050 ti oc 4GBram XXX benchmarks"

xxx replaced by f.e. Monero,Etherium, zcash, dash etc. so you can see how much your Videocard will hash and make your calculations...

if you want Monero, im using xmrstak @supportxmr

For the beginning I would recommend NiceHash to see how it's going. Afterwards you can try mining coins directly with pools. NiceHash has the advantage of getting paid in BTC and not to manage wallets for each coin you would mine.
