I think, one of the reasons for the market to misbehave is the rules changing.
Bitcoin used to be the very best tool for a) payment and b) value accumulation.
Now, if I want to send someone money, I'll choose a coin with smaller commission.
As for accumulation... It consumes too much energy, and there are countries that ban Bitcoin because of that. Already. So... would you invest in it for 100 years?
It is like dinosaurs: they were big and nasty, till small and fast creatures pushed them off the way.

There is a development running as we speak to make proper changes to Bitcoin. I think it has chances for a second life Smiley
But yes, when I see the speed of Ethereum development I cannot help thinking that Bitcoin is a bit slow...

Yes, it's possible that such a sad
the situation with the crypto-currency market was due to the fact that bitcoin became too slow and did not eliminate its shortcomings for a long time. Maybe if SegWit and the lightning network were successfully introduced into bitcoin in the autumn of last year, there would not be a general fall and stagnation. However, one can not say that only because of this the crypto-currency market fell. At the same time, many factors arose at the same time, above all a preplanned, well-planned attack on the crypto currency of negative, and largely fictitious information about the crypto currency, which in general affected the drop in demand, primarily bitcoin.

You should take a look at Github and compare Bitcoin to any other alt. So much discussion, testing, disagreement and different pulls and commits going on at a rate far higher than any other alt. So if it seems slow, it's because Bitcoin core are probably among the most cautious developers in blockchain. You have to understand that alts like ETH have Vitalik's vision to follow. Coins like Bitcoin must take into account any upgrade affects millions of users.

Second life is right although I didn't think its first life was gone?

Interesting approach. Yet I do not compare it with reptiles, for me it is a new gold, which still presents in our life, but we choose fiat money for daily spending.  Wink

Rofl. Dinosaurs didn't get like eaten by ants or whatever dumb shit you're saying hahaha.

Bitcoin fees where out of whack and now they aren't. So. Yeah. I guess your argument for why they're so bad is now defunct. You'd better hang onto some so you can survive in the future when all of your alts go to 0 and fiat dies.

There are still many people who are not familiar with Bitcoin or the digital currency system. If compared to a business that receives a regular currency, then the business / company that receives Bitcoin is still very few. I think there will be many changes and development for this bitcoin future.

Bitcoin as gold in the old days. It reflects the mood of the whole market for crypto currency. Do not try to evaluate it as a means of payment. Now there are a lot of other crypto tools for this. It is the flagship of the whole industry. And the fluctuations began after the bitcoin futures were introduced.

it's a good point of view until that time when expansion of stablecoins will be obvious and until that time when some real platforms become to sell goods for crypto.. now exists only difficult to use and  semi-darkmarket platform like Openbazaar but I heard about some projects like INS and Storiqa, more than that I take participation in same project which called Bazista as investor

cheers

I'm .. not going to invest in bitcoin. if I decide to invest in a big coin, I will choose ether. the ether has more purposes than bitcoin and besides it is easier to rise in price for this year by two or three times

After segwit wallet came to the market. Transacting via bitcoin is become very cheap early time. I am not sure whether you have tried on the segwit wallet or simply saying without doing any research on every wallet.
If you use the web wallet first come out from that. Every online wallet will consumes high fees and you will not be able to modify the fee at all.
I am sure you are thinking the alts are better way to transact the funds. Since the bitcoin not recommended others will not be talk also for 10 years.

Bitcoin is a large dinosaur, but the public hears about bitcoin before all other altcoins, hence I think it will last for quite many years down the road, though its market cap will be eaten into

We can not anticipate for 100 years.
Everything in life is changing. On what we will earn and how to invest other than gold, too, will remain open.

If bitcoin does not improved for sure eth will overtake bitcoin. We need great technology and this is why cryptocurrency created buy the compitition here is very high bitcoin should make moves so he can still be on top in the coming years.
