As for your actual suggestion, no. The merit system is designed so that only users who contribute constructively will rank up. Doling out smerit to everyone just because they have previously achieved (which in many cases would mean ‘shitposted themselves up to’) a given level would allow non-constructive users to rank up each other’s accounts.

What to do life is unfair,you have to accept what is given to you.

If the Smerits regenerates everyday then the merit system has no value at all everyone will keep sharing their merits to rank up.Don't care about the rank up for now just try to make good contribution to the forum,if you make enough contribution then you will receive merits as well,but still the system is new it needs time to settle down.Let's see how it will go in the future.

This is jealousy sounds like, if Theymos will listen to your suggestion then the multiple account users will once again flood this forum farming those different kinds of Bounty campaigns(coming from a Jr.member not a Hero Member).

Why do you "need" to rank up? What is your obsession with rank? Because you were late to the BTC party everyone else should be punished? Sounds reasonable.

- this suggestion is stupid because merit system is implemented so someone can't make tons of alts like before

Probably just another pessimistic guys with a lot of alt-accounts that can not be used now, and has a brain but just want to get things easily.

Please man, you are not going to have your idea accepted by people let alone the admin, it wont solve spammer and alt-account problem, you are just putting yourself into people's blacklist and you are reducing your chance to get merits if people blacklisted you, especially if that people is the merit sources or people that have a potential to give merit.

Not to mention you are using a name that represent your country, you know it can make your country reputation becomes bad or more bad than before?

You want 1 smerit per day for all member accounts. That is 30 smerit per month. If someone has 3-4 such accounts, he will easily make the main account Senior member even with mediocre posts. This will make the merit system useless. It is better in the current way where the merits are generated each month for only the merit sources (who are really concerned about the forum). It does look like that current circulation of merits is not  sufficient and  thus admin should add more members as merit sources. However, I do not see senior members applying for this a lot.

Yes it will be prone to abusing the merit system so I think Mods of that certain board can help to monitor that source and some members can also report that source if they are doing it wrong, well, it's just a suggestion on behalf of those people that know something but can't really speak themselves that well.

Very interesting, You received one Merit till now and given one merit .(Interestingly you given/received merit from same user within the interval of 10 minutes).  Same is true for the user to whom you have given the merit. (Might be you both are merit abuser).

Now coming to your suggestion then you need to understand below lines clearly.
Merit is not a right but a privilege that is getting driven by good quality/useful posts.
(Altough there are some merit abuse but in the end merit of these abuser will exhaust)

Your suggestion will beat the main purpose of the new merit system. It's purpose is to avoid account farming and possible to catch alt accounts doing suspicious merit trading. If sMerit is given on a daily basis, people will just go back on creating a lot of alt accounts and flooding the forum with shit posts because of daily sMerit.

As far as I know most if not all the local board mods are Merit sources or so I hear. Not to mention not everyone in your local board will be a person who can't speak English. Bilinguals who get merit from posting in English boards can send Merit to worthy posts in Local Boards. Things might improve as more merit sources are added I suppose
