The keyword ban by itself isn't going to work out for long. There's already an article published indicating how advertisers are getting around the ICO's and cryptocurrency ad ban by making use of fancy keywords (Look at the reference below). Also, I feel banning advertisements to all cryptocurrency ICO's isn't a good way to go. Take the case of Twitter, they're too taking their baby steps towards banning fraudulant and scam ICO's and cryptocurrency accounts, but they haven't yet decided to ban all of them unlike Facebook. It would be ideal to allow for free speech and filter cryptocurrencies after inspecting their authenticity only after a report has been filed by multiple users.

I honestly believe Facebook did a smart move.
All those ICOs (I don't judge them) make the crypto market look ridiculous and not really safe. It doesn't really attract some new people and only gives reasons why crypto isn't the solution for the economy. But we all know it's not true, therefore I believe until there will not be an easy way to mass adoption more like many mobile apps and ATMs all around the world and many more, advertisements shouldn't be everywhere especially small ICOs with no value.
Eventually, we need ammo before we shoot. If you know what I mean.

Facebook ban ICO project for advertising is easy to understand. As we know, almost Facebook bounties campaigns in this forum attractive personal to promote for ICO project by posting to Facebook profile, not using Facebook Ads platform. All ICO project use Facebook Ads is lending and ponzi model, that promote about profit when investing the ICO to encourage people to put money in the project to get profit per month.

On the one hand it's good that facebook did this and it is necessary to regulate and prohibit fraudulent schemes ICO, but I think that facebook is aware that grow and become stronger projects best facebook and other social networks where users will reward activity and the need to prevent.

Why are you bringing up a stale news? This happened since late January already and there has been so many topic that has been dealt with respect to this.

Facebook clearly stated the reason why they had to do this, which was as a result of not being able to have time or ways to differentiate between scams and real projects, and they just had to revisit their ad policies until further notice to protect their users. It is not an attack on cryptocurrency like some of you are already putting it please.

Hello, sir. Sorry I do not want to interrupt the problem.
I just commented well.
Can to allow it ?
Maybe he wants to go back to discussing this matter as much as possible, so he can better understand it.
Back to the main topic that has been debated.
"Facebook bans ads for crypto"
Perhaps this is a case where widely publicized minority actions affect the reputation of the majority.
In connection with digital marketing. Of these, there are those who believe that this policy is so wide as to affect a legitimate or trusted business.
Probably because, to avoid misleading or deceptive things. Thank you so mach

No for me it is not good at all because if facebook is being use by everyone in the world and it is the most famous social media so if it will ban bitcoin we will not be able to promote bitcoin properly but on the other hand I don’t believe it to be ban. Most of the time the traders use to spread news like this just to decrease the price and get the opportunity of high profit to trade at lower price and holding for the long time so it is not true according to me that’s why I am holding as much as I can hold it.

Not literally banning ads for crypto. They just have to make sure they are giving definite information to all users. It is to avoid scams and hoax in this social networking site. We should not take it negatively since they have their own reason for doing it. Where in fact they accept signature campaign through facebook.

Facebook is just being cautious. Promoting ICOs on social media sites is one of the best promotional tool, but there are some companies who are not acting on good faith. And facebook is just protecting those people from scams and fraud.

Sometimes happened that Facebook deleted my posts about ICO or cryptocurrencies with links. But when I appealed to support they restored my posts because they didn't violate any rules.

Thank you for sharing the news.

I had no idea that face book was Taking inspiration from the China! Banning is never the solution... Regulation is!
One should understand that it will eventually take the Bitcoin's community out of the fb ... It's a serious issue.
Also it was a means of earning for many I don't know what they got from it... People are that smart to not trust a scam ! And knows how to evaluate it.. they don't need to do that

WASHINGTON- Facebook says it is banning all ads related to cryptocurrencies in an effort to fight scams.

The social media giant said it is barring ads for "financial products and services that are frequently associated with misleading or deceptive promotional practices, such as binary options, initial coin offerings, and cryptocurrency."

Initial coin offerings or ICOs are a way for companies to raise funds by selling investors cryptographic assets.

Fraud is common in the world of red-hot digital currencies such as bitcoin.

This week, for instance, the US Securities and Exchange Commission shut down an initial coin offering by a Texas company called AriseBank.

AriseBank was accused of relying on celebrity endorsers such as boxer Evander Holyfield and social media to cheat investors out of $600 million of its goal of $1 billion for a currency it called "AriseCoin."

In a blog post announcing the news, Facebook product management director Rob Leathern hinted that Facebook may modify the new policy at some point to allow bona fide crypto-related businesses to advertise again.

"We want people to continue to discover and learn about new products and services through Facebook ads without fear of scams or deception," Leathern wrote.

"That said, there are many companies who are advertising binary options, ICOs and cryptocurrencies that are not currently operating in good faith."

"This policy is intentionally broad while we work to better detect deceptive and misleading advertising practices, and enforcement will begin to ramp up across our platforms including Facebook, Audience Network and Instagram. We will revisit this policy and how we enforce it as our signals improve," he added.

Even if FACEBOOK will ban totally to all DIGITAL CRYPTO CURRENCY but they  will find some other option to promote their good intention for all to serve better to all people.

There are some other crypto currency was made and illegal activities like Token Tree  they are promoting their own crypto currency that says it is a good investment then you will get a big amount earning double from your capital but its not. no  compensation come up. they will promise that your capital become double or triple, but its not, eventually it will totally disappear until they get a huge amount of money coming from many investor.

I think it is a bad idea because as we all know bitcoin is such a big help to many people nowadays and why would they ban it? Juest because they are securing people getting scammed? I think it is depends on the people if they will get scammed or something. They must know their securities to be saved.

Facebook's ban on encrypted money, of course, is bad news for cryptocurrencies, because Facebook is still important in the media.

Hmmm. That's not a good idea because we all know tgat bitcoin ads is the one who helps people to know more about bitcoin yet it will be banned? Bitcoin ads helps a lot  of people speciay to know more about bitcoin. I think it is a good idea to put ads about bitcoin in facebook because many people would able to learn about bitcoin in that.

Hmmm? It has a two possibility. It is good as well as it also have disadvantages. The advantage of it is many people will somehow be safe in terms of their bitcoin and from getting scammed ny other, yes that's right yet the disadvanatage of it is that many people will not knew about bitcoin and miss the opportunity of getting some income online.

My personal Facebook feed has lately been swarming with ads promoting ICOs and promising impossibly high returns, which should ring an alarm bell for any potential investor. However, i think its very sacariam that Mark Zuckerberg just posted his resolution on Facebook first of January/2018 . He would have learned Blockchain , and then he banned crypto lmao.

It's old news but we can share what's a reason facebook ban ads crypto or ICO pages.
I think facebook prohibits ads contain crypto and ico because they dont have regulation from some countries, big country of course like USA and china.
So facebook tries to protect people from scammer projects and we know some real ICO project are not banned until now.

It is true that these things will be bane by face book because of the heavy traffic may and this is not to make any volatility to the bitcoin if the one sit bane this then there are so many other social media websites through which we can advertise the crypto currencies ads so it is not the bad thing but soon they will accept the bitcoin ads for this time we have to wait and keep patience.
