Is there a general consensus regarding two v/s three cooler fan (air cooled) setups? From what I've seen, it sounds like :

2-fan setups have larger physical fans than 3-fan setups, so they can push more air at lower RPMs and are therefore quieter.

Card thickness has a lot to do with cooling, as thicker means more heatsink / fin area.

So, my questions are, is the noise difference that bad, or are we talking minor differences that are drowned out by other factors? especially such as hashrate.

Also, am I right about the above?

Old Question but here you go- 3 fans are always better doesn't matter if the size of the fans is small as heat sink will be larger, they run more silently too (it depends from card to card tho). I don't own it but I know that INNO3d 3 fan or 4 fan cards run extremely silent.

Again it will vary a lot from brand to brand and card to card. I have 12 card rig of same brand and I can see 10-12C difference between some of my cards.

You can't go wrong with tier-1 brands like Sapphire. Sapphire pulse RX 570 2 fan will run at low temp then PowerColor RX 570 3 fan.

Yes, but for a new player it's quite huge. Just improving my knowledge base.

Thanks a lot for your input, really helped me a lot to understand all those factors. I'll keep that in mind to start collecting my GPUs.
