There is a Forbes article that compares the current crypto landscape to growth of internet saying that it is like 1994.
so in that case, Amazon of crypto is being formed this year or is just starting off, Google of crypto is still 4 years out and Facebook of crypto is still 10 years out. do you believe it is like 1994 in crypto?

if you wish to read, here is the article: https://www.forbes.com/sites/apaul/2017/11/27/its-1994-in-cryptocurrency/#4d5a76aab28a

This is a very interesting article, thank you for sharing... I think that market in 2018-2019 will make clear coins that will survive and become "BIG ONES" and others that will fall...

yes very interesting, especially the part of emails in 1994- bad interface and only viable product at that stage.

Thank you, this comparison is very interesting. I also believe the widespread of Internet and how easy it is to get crypto nowadays, the growth of crypto is going to be faster and of course, its market cycle is going to be shorter.
Hundreds of years for stocks growth but with cryptocurrency market, I could see it somewhere between 20-30 years.

Interesting article. Nice write up. Crypto has entered a stage where investors are becoming wiser. Investors has moved from white paper based projects to projects with established businesses and proven products.

We are in the early development stage and only serious minded projects will survive.

Nice article and with the table comparing of where are we right now and the past with 1994.  There's somehow similarity way back then on 1994 ages and the technology from that year up to now. It's not enough to say that we are still early but the growth of internet from the past years are quick and it can be also the same thing with cryptocurrency.

Interesting comparison. I like this quote

"Like email in 1994, Bitcoin is a robust technology ready for widespread use, but very early in its adoption curve."

good article but im not sure we will be able to compare E-mail growth to decentralised crypto
because E-mail had no technological rival other than paper mail but decentralised crypto may very well have a rival soon,
a centralised variant run and controlled by governments and banks.

The article brings to mind the war between Betamax and VHS and how both formats were battling for the same space,
something centralised and decentralised crypto will not really be doing, those who dont like the control of banks etc. will always side with bitcoin etc.

anyway here is another fun article about tech wars between rival technologies -

I believe it to be so as the acceptance and adoption rate of internet in 1994 and state of cryptocurrencies now is the same. I don't think the amazon of crypto will be formed this year though, it might have been already formed. Who knows it might be ethereum or any other coin out there? In terms of google and facebook of crypto though I also think that it hasn't been released yet. Thanks for the article btw, it is a good read.

i guess time will tell. yes i think Amazon of crypto could be already out, but i think in the next 1-2 years many will fail in order for us to have a glimpse of what Amazon of crypto is. as you say it could be Ethereum

I like very muche this articles.

"....Like email in 1994, Bitcoin provides value today.  It can consistently and securely transmit monetary value across the planet and also provides a censorship and judgement-resistant store of value.  Like email in 1994, Bitcoin is a robust technology ready for widespread use,  """.

Hold Bitcoin and altcoin . The revolution is starting

I really hate the Forbes website with a passion, first that annoying 'skip' thing and then they divide a small article over multiple pages.
The article was mildly fun to read, but articles like these are pretty common.

I mean I've read about that exact same sentiment dozens of times, it always boils down to the same thing.
That we are still early adopters and that most people still don't trust cryptocurrency.

Actually there are also lots of video on youtube which compares crypto as new internet and also some compare crypto price surge with .com boom which might pop up in future like .com boom.

It is true that cryptocurrency is still in primitive stage and there is lots of room for growth, at some point every people might start to use crypto for payment settlement just like how every people are now using internet on daily basis.

No I think it is far away from 1994, market is still very little, I think it is just a crash like the one in 2013, not bubble. This may happen after 2020

Thanks for your article, it's quite interesting, but I think that the crypt develops a little differently and it's not worth comparing these two processes.
