Are there John Oliver and Last Week Tonight fans here? I was shocked that he made a full feature on cryptocurrency on his show (thanks Dan!). Then again, Seth Meyers did make a pseudo TV ad on bitcoin and The Daily Show had Ronnie Chang make a short piece on cryptos like Dogecoin.

The video can be watched here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g6iDZspbRMg

John's show gets up to 10 million views worldwide on Youtube alone. I love JO, that rat-faced host. And he made some very good points about the pump-and-dump schemes and being a careful investor -- Holler if you are part of #craefulgang!

At the same time he also overlooked other issues and also unfairly portrayed the crypto sphere as crazy. Anyway, he is a comedian after all and I did get a few laughs out of it.

But, who will have the last laugh?  Smiley

I thoroughly enjoyed that bit! I felt like they introduced crypto's to the general public in a great comedic and informative manner. Without being overly informative or overly pressing one side or the other. A great bipartisan viewpoint. I honestly thought he was going to launch his own coin by the end of the bit. Definitely could use more positive viewpoints in the news.

I bet he was planning that originally and that's where HBO drew the line lol. I remember the televangelist episode and he launched his own church! And debt buying company. So why not a token???  Really looking forward to more shows making informative pieces on crypto.

I think he was going to create his own coin until he stumbled upon Doge Coin, which would've been all he could've dreamed his coin to be. I was dying at "Hodl gang, Hodl gang, Hodl gang!" I have a simple sense of humor, but the way it was presented was without unnecessary critique or propaganda; it seemed he was genuinely interested in educating the public, while making a few light hearted jokes. This is perfectly acceptable in my book, and probably had a lot of people looking further into it after the show.
