But my main concern about using this would be how much bandwidth does it draw as opposed to using a regular price ticker app you can find on the apple store or android place?

Wow! Awesome, I installed it right away. I haven't found an app on IOS that constantly updates me with the price, usually it is hard to set-up notifications to show me the current price via the notification center or periodically update me. For sure thought telegram it will be much more easier as it is kinda a chat so it will likely reflect on my notifications.
