When you talk about phony, I have no questions. But we are talking about all the ICO without exception. Who can determine that the project is a Scam before it starts to work?

they know this, do you really think that a company as big as google and with many genius people working on google would not think of something so obvious? Of course they thought, so why are they attacking ICOs? they could simply post a warning for people to know the danger and not banish, I think the google's decision should be that they are pulling bag from banks and regulators.

This is not a method of combating fraud. Many good projects will not be able to receive financial support. Again, the rich and corporations will decide the fate of all technologies.

they know this, but they must pull the bag of the rich, the government and the banks

Well let's move on and we do not give up because of this obstacle

You are right. I can not say the reason why it happened, but the biggest affected sector is crypto market. Now Bitcoin is around $ 8,300, hopefully the market will recover. But, we should get more potential coins for cheap price and when the time comes we will sell it for expensive price in order to get more profit.

Dropping out those adds was smart thing if you ask me, because Facebook's and Google's reputation was on stake. Those adds would hurt people by scamming them, and those people would blame this companies. So I guess it was right thing to do, to ban all those adds. Also I think that this ban is only for limited time, at least until crypto is regulated fully. Big companies hate passing good deals that could bring them more money.
I do have the same perception which they do made such act or decision for them to avoid possible issues ahead when it turns out that Scam ICO or projects would really be rampant on upcoming days or years. They dont really like to risk out their reputation and high chances that they would really be blamed of since the company is responsible for having such advertisements.

When this came out yesterday as a form of speculation someone had said its not possible simply because of the amount revenue that would be lost by Google as a result of ban on ads related to crypto my response then was there is and will be some motive beyond profit and even the forum had to stop selling ads to ICOs, it was a difficult decision but necessary. The fault is not theirs but the bad eggs who are soiling the name of crypto as well as the participants who blow the proportion of how huge the scam going on around here is going and Google continued support for ads makes them accomplice to that.

The effect to bitcoin price will be huge which we have been seeing but good its happening now because by June that its coming into effect, it won't be felt as much as this time and hopefully price would have recovered before then and we have one less challenge to face in the path to more greatness.

This is a really bad news for cryptocurrency but I don't think this situtation will last too long cause beside Google, there are a lot of advertising services that we can use but it's not good as Google cause at the moment Google is the best place for advertising. But there are still more than 2 months left before Google ban it totally, hope that something will happen and it'll make Google change their mind Smiley

We have nobody to blame but ourselves - all the ads posted were complete garbage for scams like ICOs, newsletters, and trading robots that steal your money. The move was to protect all the people getting scammed. I dont think it was to 'ban bitcoin'.
I agree with you, this has nothing to do with banning bitcoin, perhaps more precisely prohibit posting ico ads that they consider garbage. That policy really only protects people from being scammed.

I think it's nice that google does something like this.Projects that advertise with Google are believed to be more reliable. This also allows fraudsters to trick people.

Anyway, google is just banning advetisment in their site but not crypto at all,  still we can promote crypto in some other sites. It really affect the market trend and making such huge dump in just few hours after banning. We know how big company is these and truly they are very influential in terms of advertising.

I have to blame ICOs for this. And quite frankly, I might not like what they're doing, but it's a very responsible move. Just looking at the up and down price swings, I imagine a lot of their users, average people have lost a lot of money with Cryptos.

I enjoy this fact, I think it's good news. There are a lot of scam icos and bitcoin related services advertised on google. If you just write bitcoin mixer, you'll see much ads and 100% of them are scams, usually phishing websites. (Very curious, why the hell does owner of mixer which claims to be anonymous will use credit/debit card on google adsense?
This place is 100% enough for everything. Will be glad if btctalk make something against btc icos, exchangers and etc.

Bitcoin is going down regardless of any news. It's just the end of this bubble. Would help when people would fucking realize this for a sec.
I agree that the price has been in a relatively longer term downtrend, and that might continue in the coming weeks as well. The demand from being sky high, has currently no foundation to stand on anymore.

People however always like to think that when the price is going down, it has to be related to negativity, and that is not the case, but people can't understand that because they don't know anything about this market.

Most people are of believe that Bitcoin can become worthless overnight, which stimulates them to panic sell each time the market seems to be going through a firm correction, which is ridiculous.

I agree with OP's stance. I have today stated that this forum will start to become a more important place to advertise on due to social media platforms going absolutely nuts on crypto ads.

It's a short term disappointment seeing Google do this, but in the long term other platforms will take over in this aspect, and they'll be thriving due to the insane demand now large social media platforms left a massive gap.

BSV is not the real Bcash. Bcash is the real Bcash.

After facebook banned the ICO ad cryptocurrency now turn to google. I don't want to be negative thinking, but perhaps this is as a result the number of reports about many scams ICO.
I am still convinced that the cryptocurrency market will remain good even make people know about cryptocurrency and hopely investing their money on crypto market

Those news from google is a pure example of FUD. No one showed how much funds was attracted by ICOs through Adwords but the market is dipin. I'm pretty sure that it would be less than the amount of MC lost on those FUD waves.
Does anyone here ever invested into the ICO that he found via google ads?
But look it from their side. They can't know which project is scam and which isn't.
They just have to improve the moderation of their ads. You can make an experiment: just turn off your ad blocks for a week and count each phishing site that you see on adwords. I did it twice for the last month and every time I've seen phishing websites advertised via google. They don't have to make a full review of the websites they advertise but they have to somehow filter it. Their moderation is bad as hell and they blame the whole crypto community.

Or were always a lousy idea to begin with. That said, ICOs have performed at 1000% of the lifespan of their existence. So its no wonder everyone wants in. They don't even care if they're shit, they just want in on the hype. Which is understandable, so do I. Don't blame google, blame the scammers. They are the ones who will ruin crypto.

Uuhm…. This is pretty bad news and might lead to some kind of collapse in Bitcoin price, but I am praying that such never happens at all, cause if it does happen, many people will be affected and many will lose their money. It just looks like a discussed plan to take down Bitcoin, but I pray seriously that such never happens. Even if it does happen, I believe people can still use this forum to advertise their business.

It's a really good point. If no scams existed then there would be nothing for Google to have an issue with (assuming they're truthful in their reasoning). Given that, a lot of the blame has to fall on to us as ICO participants. If we can correctly identify the good projects and educate people to avoid scams then those scams would not be profitable and would cease to exist. I really hope that one of the main things regulation improves upon is the level of scam ICOs.

Google is also partly a support for government work, given that U.S. regulators are paying closer attention and oversight of cryptocurrency projects.

Google and facebook, the two big Internet giants, may have a big impact on marketing in the field by blocking the use of encrypted currency advertising.

Google's move is justified given that the flood of ICOs (scams) nowadays. If you're a long term investor, the overall health of the market is far more important than short term gains brought by noobs who n=know nothing about cryptos but lured in by ads.
