If you haven't heard; Stephen Hawkings is dead.
Well, this is not a usually post of bitcoin discussion but I felt he deserve a tribute from we bitcoin lovers and scientist in this forum. Though, he might not have contributed much
to bitcoin but he developed new software within the bitcoin and crypto trading market (algorithm called hawkcode) with the potential to disrupt the bitcoin market. And this was in the aim for distribution of wealth among the regular people; which in my opinion is fair.
For more info; https://medium.com/@OnBRM/stephen-hawking-has-developed-new-software-with-the-potential-to-disrupt-the-bitcoin-markets-f7715f9c26c
Well, we lost a legend. Show your respect and informations on anyway he has supported bitcoin or not.
 My favorite quote from him;

Note; To the moderators,  I don't know if this is the right section to post this. Feel free to move it.

RIP to this man, I learnt a lot from his books, documentaries, and understanding black holes, he is the greatest scientist since Einstein and the world mourns him as a whole

Even though I didn't agree to many of his opinions which weren't directly related to science I respecteded him. He also was kind of inspiration with his illness and still being so humorous.

Wow, R.I.P to a great man, he will be definitely missed. Wish all the best to family and friends. Brilliant physicist and a pop culture icon. I've read one of his many books, he was a literal genius.  Undecided

Truly a great loss for the scientific community. I always had an aversion to markets and economy but as a student this person't life and work made me crave an interest for astrophysics and really, "what's out there". He will be missed. Rest In Peace!

It's so sad that such a great brain was locked in such an unfortunate body. I'm sorry we have lost him.

Really mixed feelings about that. He was a great man. But with his condition, death must have been a relief.

Are we sure, we cant upload brains into computers yet?

At least it was his brain that fulfilled him.  Imagine being a trades person and having your ability to take care of your family taken from you piece by piece...

It has been said that our knowledge of the brain/nervous system is 50 years behind every other part.

Yes and no, Hawking himself stated this: "My disabilities have not been a significant handicap in my field, which is theoretical physics. Indeed, they have helped me in a way by shielding me from lecturing and administrative work that I would otherwise have been involved in."

He got into rowing because he got bored with physics in the early 60s, just a couple of years before he learned about his disease. Who knows what path he would have chosen, if it wasn't for his disability?

It's so sad, he was a smart man. He may not have made any contribution to the blockchain, but his hypotheses deserve attention. And those who do not know Stephen Hawkings, I advise you to read him biography.

Stephen Hawkings is one of the most intelligent man in history. Even though he has ALS since 21 years, it does not become a hindrance for him for all of his works. He contributed a lot in the field of cosmology, general relativity and quantum gravity especially in the context of black hole. It really sadden me that he is now gone.

He is one of the only few amazing genius physicist, He refined the science regarding the origin of the universe, however he does not believe in a Creator who is the supreme God! Anyway we all die anyway and what we believe belongs with us and to a Supreme one who we really looks up to!

First... Steven Hawking died LONG ago...no one has.. nor ever will ..survive ALS for over 20 years AND ALSO escapes suffering no loss of cognitive function.
The ACTOR who  replaced him was a pampered  impostor puppet.
ALL of the "work" & "Science"  was bullshit fallacious idiotic EASILY DISPROVED theories
All his "work" is a FRAUD and CRIME against truth reason and science

JUST LIKE EINSTEIN the bullshit liar plagiarist fraud

Since ALS is a negative diagnosis disease we really don't know how many diseases or sub types there are all being called "ALS".

Some people live 6 months or less, others live 8+ years.

If you get on a vent and feeding tube you can significantly extend your life.

ALS can impact brain function in strange ways.  It can cause memory loss.  It can cause a heightened startle reflex.  It can cause you to laugh or cry at inappropriate times.  It doesn't have to do any of these things.  It doesn't lower IQ, although people with a high IQ might have a slightly better chance at getting it.  Of course after around 24 everyone's fluid IQ goes down, so Stephen's probably did too.

I feel very saddened by this loss. I agree 100% that we have lost a great mind that has given much to science and still could have contributed for a while more.

Stephen Hawking has every right to be named together with great scientists such as Galileo, Keplero, Leonardo Da Vinci, Newton, Einstein and the likes.

R.I.P. Stephen!

P.S.: For the author of the post: it is HAWKING, not Hawkings.
