Okay everyone, here is the idea behind this.

For a couple years now, Alex Jones has chosen certain keywords, and then linked them to news stories about popular conspiracies of the day. When he would ask his listeners to all type in the search term that day, almost without fail, almost every time, the search term and the article would dominate the #1 position in the news and trends for keywords searched and popular news items.

I propose that admin sticky this thread, and once a week or more, we can vote on it maybe, but the keyword connected to an important article can be posted in this thread, and collectively, on a selected day, we can all search the keyword term and propel it higher and higher into the google top searched and trends.

What do people think about this? Do I have some support here?

Don't spam Google, especially on a consistent basis.

Work on quality sites with proper initial set up to work with Bitcoin keywords.

It's not spamming google. That's not what i'm talking about at all.
I guess you don't listen to Alex, do you?

This is what happens.

Someone posts a positive story about bitcoins. That could be one of us in a blog or CNN news. The story contains two words together like "bitcoin rebels". On a selected day, eveyone on the forum types in "bitcoin rebels" into their search box on google, and what happens is that the article goes higher and higher in the search term, and the search term becomes #1 in google trends. It's not spamming anything. It's a very smart idea for activism, until google changes their algorithym to exclude bitcoin searches, which they could do anytime for any reason anyways. It took almost a year for them to deal with it in regards to Alex and his crew and following and yet it still works for most terms, just not for the term "alex jones". But it would take quite a bit of serious work for us to annoy google, i'm sure.

I understand what you're talking about.

4Chan has done this in the past, getting people to use auto-searching scripts so the requests go through dozens/hundreds of times.

I used to own a Google News website and posted an article based on the rumour 4chan started about Megan fox having a black baby, which had about 12,500 views in total over a week, so this is definately something to look into doing. (Unfortunately i no longer have the site, it was delisted from gNews for using the same layout about a thousand other people were using after someone released an ebook on how to start up a gNews site - Lol!)

Because Bitcoin is a niche at the moment, people seeing bitcoin related search terms in the top searches would obviously wonder what it is, then go onto read about it and thus we would have more people joining the community.

"What do people think about this? Do I have some support here?"

For it to truly work, you would need a critical mass of people involved. Alex Jones has a large cult following. It's even been tried on Twitter, by members with 100,000's of followers, to get a TT (trending topic) going, if only for a few minutes, to no prevail. With that said, if domination of certain keywords is a genius business plan, wouldn't Oprah be doing it with her cult followers?
