Big money is a big problem. Who said it would be easy? Nobody cares about the fate of the bitcoin market. It seems to me that selling coins for Fiat is a prerequisite. Initially it was reported that he started to dump bitcoin during the December frenzy so I speculate that he is one factor that contributed to the downfall of bitcoin since then. He is a trustee, so I think the can do anything with the coins he is holding. He needs to offload Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash, because he need to pay the creditors. I don't think that he is stupid though, but maybe he is doing it in good faith however, his action really put a lot of pressure on the price. I understand where you coming from because we don't know what's going on. The price keeps dipping and it seems we can't take off. However, the damage has been done already. But the good news is that he can't just dump the remaining bitcoin he holds unless there is a court order. And the next court appearance is in September, so I don't expect any movement today up to September.

Until when this scenario would end? I only see a never ending FUD everywhere which makes Bitcoin keep falling and falling. No matter what they did it still brings a negative effect to both short-term and long-term investors.

Either it is an inside job or a very well planned job but of course with some connection on the inside but sadly they aren't that good at planning their exit plan.

Sooner or later we might see another negative news coming our way that will impact the market but not as significant as the Mt. Gox trustee offloading. Good thing though that someone has able to catch as to what the trustee is doing. Because we really don't know what's happening and even the so called expert can't agree as to what causing like price correction every month or so. At least the picture is now clear as the dust has been settling down. Yeah, bitcoin once again show how resilient it is from all the dumping and bad news coming and thankfully holding strong above $8000 range and did not bottom around $2000-$5000 which all the naysayers have predicted.

People not believing in 'the law of the previous bottom' lose by default their credibility. It's not for nothing that the bottom of last month halted slightly below the $6000 mark. It shows that the market adds value to the previous bottom.

Bottom last year November Bitstamp ~ $5555.
Bottom last month Bitstamp ~ $5920.

Bottom last year November Bitfinex ~ $5403.
Bottom last month Bitfinex ~ $6000.

Bottom last year November GDAX ~ $5511.
Bottom last month GDAX ~ $5873.

With the panic going on at that point we could have easily dipped below $5000 as well, but it didn't happen because of that bottom. For that reason these levels were an instant buy opportunity for me and likely for others as well.

I don't see any example of bitcoin's viability in this case. All bitcoin balances on the Mtgox account are slightly more than 1% of all coins. Sold less than half of these coins. At the same time, the market fell by 50%. Do you think this is a measure of sustainability? I'm disappointed. I was expecting more of the viability of bitcoin.

He can pay them in the original form. I know he was probably ordered by court to use fiat, but it's stupid. They should either divide the coins between the creditors or auction them for fiat and divide that. He's losing money by selling at low prices. HE could get much more fiat by selling at auction or by slowly selling at small numbers and dividing the money between multiple exchanges, preferably those with premium prices (Korean exchanges back in December).

Also, why BCH? What about the other forks? BTG is worth around $100 per coin. He supposedly sold 30k BTC, That's 3 million dollars in BTG being left forgotten. Who will grab that? The trustee? Karpeles? This is a joke.
