I've heard of people sending small amounts of BTC to the silkroad address the feds now have with messages attached, but there seem to be some larger amounts going in now too. today there was one for 12.15078995. there some in there for 136.47811354 and 59.2772818. what the hell is going on?

heres the address on blockchain.info

Wow, is that really the case? Like, that's the consensus around here? I wasn't sure at this point that they had gained access to the wallets -- just that they had physical possession of the servers. Interesting stuff.

Edit: Oh, maybe you mean the escrow/user wallets, not DPR.

I think a smart move for them would be to hold them.

Yes, I assume that's what's happening.

They said when the trial and all that is over they will probably sell all assets.

Yap, stay tuned, if they drop all at once, there will be a mini crash.

Haha, I like some of the messages people write in them:

Which exchange will they start the crash at, if its Gox, i should think they would hold it as compensation for the confiscated funds.  I would think they would find a private buyer, so it wont affect the mrket at all.

Wow! This is very impressive. Lots and lots of addresses! Serious money, too.

I used to be a citizen and a taxpayer. Those days are long gone.

Hehe, it would be funny if they ended up selling the BTC after the trial at MTGox, and then had the money stuck for years because of their own regulations.

Yeah, I really can't imagine the US Government loading up an account on MT Gox and dumping their coins -- LOL. They will auction them, I think, and a private buyer will get a real sweetheart deal.

Yah, that's more likely, but no need to auction if it has a market price...

I guess they will do the same thing the do when with confiscated gold, whatever that is...
