Welcome. The Etheraffle ANN and bounty campaign have now been live for 24 hours!

We've had some great feedback so far. If you have any questions regarding the project, we'll be more than happy to answer them!

Dont forget, Etheraffle is offering the equivalent of $1,000,000 in LOT tokens over in the bounty campaign, some of which can be earned by simply subscribing to or following our YouTube channel, subreddit and Instagram page!

Follow the link below for more information!

This is why we need a decentralized lottery - You can't hack user accounts if you don't need to keep any!

The pictures are beautiful. But, where is the white paper? Where is the team? In the meantime, it looks like a beautiful, but little informative advertisement. More information.

Thank you!

Oops, sorry! The info was all there it's just the buttons weren't too obvious what they were! For example these are the website and white paper links:

Not very descriptive! We've added text links to the main post now:

Thanks for the feedback - let us know if you have any more questions!

How is Etheraffle different? So many ways!

  • We have no single points of failure => unlike the competition!
  • We are truly decentralized => unlike the competition!
  • We don't take a cut, you get it instead => unlike the competition!
  • Our contracts are actually verified on etherscan.io => unlike the competition!
  • We have no access to prize pools => unlike the competition!
  • Our raffles run automatically & programmatically => unlike the competition!
  • We give a portion of ether raised to charity => unlike the competition!

Hello Ozinzin,

You can see how our smart contracts operate here => They're open-source on etherscan.io

But basically it works like this:

  • People play Etheraffle
  • Each week the winning numbers are drawn & people win ether!
  • Then 15% of that week's ticket sales are put into a contract to be given to charity!
  • And another 15% is put into a contract to be given to LOT token holders!

And that's it! We don't take a fee because we are also LOT token holders, just like you can be if you visit our ICO here!

Hello Livermore_,

Yes you can trust us, but the best bit is that we are decentralized, so you don't even have to!

And yes, there is a smart-contract function in charge of all the prize pools and raffle turn-over, meaning that no humans are involved at any step, unlike any other existing blockchain lotteries. The only people with access to the prize pool are the winners of Etheraffle!

A function is also in charge of sending the ether to a contract ready for the LOT token holders, so again, at no point do you have to trust anybody in order to get your ether when you are a LOT token holder!

The graphics are like old dandy games. Maybe it's good - it causes a feeling of nostalgia, but at the same time, simplicity

Hi sergeygusev69,

You're not the only one that the auto-playing video has put off - sorry! We are going to disable it - thank you for the feedback!

Hi sjyi!

Here is the entire process for playing Etheraffle with the Brave browser - excellent choice of browser by the way! (You mentioned that you have MetaMask set up already so excuse the first couple of images!)

Enable MetaMask Brave Browser:

Log into MetaMask:

Make sure you're on the Main Net & have ETH:

Visit Etheraffle!:

Pick your numbers and enter - Good Luck!!:

Hopefully that clears things up! Let me know if you have any more issues!

That was a very detailed instruction.  Thank you.

I sent over some ether.
https://etherscan.io/address/0xc8c6618e0fFdb0feDb49385A3dC26845A2179865

And bought a ticket for the Saturday drawing.

I don't know why, but the "Ticket Purchase In Progress ..." dialog has been up for last 6 minutes.  I think it should be much quicker than that.

I bought another raffle ticket today.

That went through w/o any problems.

I  realized that I had to approve the transaction from the metamask.
Once I did that the purchase went through quickly and smoothly.

But the ticket for yesterday didn't go through.  It had an  error.

The ticket price was deducted from my wallet.

Approving the transaction should be included in your instruction to make sure that everyone's ticket purchase completes smoothly.

 Hi Syji!

We're sorry to hear you were having some issues!

I don't know why, but the "Ticket Purchase In Progress ..." dialog has been up for last 6 minutes.  I think it should be much quicker than that.

As you later discovered, the "Ticket Purchase In Progress..." screen appears when your Ethereum Wallet/browser takes over, and it's waiting for you to confirm the transaction in your wallet/browser. So it takes as long as you take to hit submit! Smiley

Approving the transaction should be included in your instruction to make sure that everyone's ticket purchase completes smoothly.

We agree and will add an explanation to the "Ticket Purchase In Progress..." pop up to make it clearer - thank you for the feedback!

But the ticket for yesterday didn't go through.  It had an  error.

Looking at the contract we can see your transaction that errored, and the successful one a few minutes later - and we have figured out what happened!

It seems it was an unlucky coincidence! At around the time you made your first transaction yesterday, the ticket price was raised to reflect the now lower price of Ethereum in dollars. And during the time you were making your entry (those six minutes you mentioned above!) was when the ticket price went up. So your transaction was for only 0.002ETH and the ticket price had become 0.003ETH meaning the transaction was reverted!

The ticket price was deducted from my wallet.

Looking at the contract & you account, you can see that the price for this failed transaction was not taken from your account.

The transaction still exists and still shows up in your wallet as an outgoing one, but because it failed (and hence the red exclamation mark !), the ETH was never moved, so don't worry! You did however lose just under $0.01 in gas fees. So because of that, and because of a) Your good feedback and b) Your patience, we sent you 0.003ETH to cover your ticket price!

Thank you for playing Etheraffle and buying tickets - good luck!

Oh, and announcement we made on twitter re an upcoming promo is nearly ready, and you'll be glad you've bought a ticket . . . Wink
