It's a parimutuel betting model - the odds vary up until the bet closing time. This means if you bet the same amount on both sides, you essentially get what you bet (less 3%). It pays to get things right instead of getting good odds. We realize this doesn't appeal to everyone who is used to the more traditional aspect of securing the best odds which is why we're working toward a fixed-odds bet type (like betfair) along with partnering with a market maker which will add significant liquidity (100BTC+).
