Reading this forum I noticed an interesting thing. Bitcoin fanatics (don't confuse with true bitcoiners) are very biased. Arguing about future of Bitcoin they love to mention Internet in 1990s, when almost noone believed that it would become widespread. But if someone else mentions Tulipomania and compares it to Bitcoin, these fanatics becomes very angry and a discussion usually finished with personal insults.

If you are a veteran member of this forum, you already know how many people here are biased. But if you are a newbie, don't think you will meet a lot of sane people here. Most of the users are sockpuppets, keep this in mind...

Certainly plenty of sock puppets, that's for sure. But yeah, the forum is full of fanatics and uber bulls... it's sort of natural, being a bitcoin forum and with all the speculation around bitcoin. I've pretty much gotten past the point of arguing with fanatics about the future of bitcoin -- what a headache.  Smiley

That is good advice. Many Bitcoin "fanatics" like to spread positive news, because they think it will encourage buying.

...it will encourage buying.

Which in turn will raise the price of Bitcoin. 1 million dollar price is the only goal for all those fanatics, they are interested in money, not in Bitcoin adoption.

It's just nothing like the Tulips because the price speculation was based on the eventual worth of a commodity which did not have a fixed supply. You can grow as many Tulips as you like but you can't just make more Bitcoins.

But there are a lot of strange comments such as "tomorrow Bitcoin will reach 1 million usd", or "bitcoin, I mean it's just done man!" but I just laugh at all that crap.

Yep, I believe it is not so dissimilar to the Yahoo Finance forums (at least when I saw them years ago when I was looking into stock investment). Lots of FUD and wannabe pump-and-dumpers around.

1 million dollar / BTC ?  Cheesy

There is no one who will wait so long before selling almost everything.  The highest valued estimation of BTC was about 250.000 USD/BTC. I dont believe it unless USD hyperinflation happens (not likely)

That's where the "troll box" of btc-e came from.
The more you buy, the more they'll profit.  At least that's the idea.

$1MM per bitcoin is not really that far fetched as you might think, watch the video where Balaji Srinivasan (Co-Founder and CTO, Counsyl) speaks about an early stage investment in FaceBook that yielded a 30,000 x ROI.

Did you compared tulipomania with bitcoins using facts and good arguments?
Or you just said "hey guys you know what? bitcoin is a bubble. Cya!!"  Embarrassed

Oh, the alt accounts.
The TradeFortress battle vs. the alt accounts.
The drama (CoinChat/WhiskChat) brought here for no reason.
The spambots.
The hacking.

The giveaways.
The altcoins (better now, though)
Will it all ever stop and just let us talk about Bitcoin?

Well, everyone has his own point of view. Just that some people cannot accept other's people point of view and end up raging. Just ignore those people Smiley
