Alternatives to Ethereum include NEO and Stellar. Currently Ethereum is still very dominant, which means that many ERC-20 based tokens are in the top 30. These include EOS, TRON, OMISEGO and VeChain. It remains to be seen how many projects will be brought out on the alternative Blockchain NEO and Stellar in the future. Ethereum 2.0 will be released in early 2019, maybe this will change everything again.

Personally, I think Eos is the only coin that is standing as the stiffest competitor of Eth and all its features. The brain behind the project; Eos are doing all they can to see how the Eos platform/blockchain can become more usable and popular as ETH.

i still dont get it . ico use eth until they have a main net? the alternative to eth is trx, waves, eos, ada?, soon to be bch, neo, komodo?, ziliqua? it is so bad how all these are currencies though. too many currencies how would adoption take place??

Well i would consider EOS the best rivals to ethereum now, Tron might follow on but EOS got more attention here for the whole crypto scene

Really, I'm one that like to think that regardless of what a lot of us think that these coins are in a competion, and are rivals of themselves, I believe that each coin is riding at its own pace just to make a name for itself.  I don't necessarily think they are rivals of themselves, and as such, I do not believe that there are any rivals to ETH.

If there are new coins that rival ETH and many use it like ER20, I think very many are positively welcomed, especially if the popularity can defeat Ethereum. Again, with an open attitude, I am ready to accept platforms like ETH.

ripple is a strong opponent for ether in the market cap, but there is no project ripple to become a smart contract bounty. if it can be done XRP, then the ripple will really be a tough opponent for Etherum.

yes the online casinos are to be occupied the most of the games developing with the gambling field so I can be definitely needed to improve much more for the future because gambling is also needed for the games for more attraction.

I don't think NEO really has any advantage over Ethereum, except for free gas, the EOS I think you can really compare with Ethereum.

At Ethereum (early 2019) from prospective competitors, there are 2 cryptocurrency. This NEO and XLM, both of these coins have the potential for development, and offer good functionality. (My opinion, and thought such)

in my opinion NEO will be the closest heavy competitor of Ethereum, because NEO has good prospects in the world of cryptocurency, but until now Ethereum is still very strong to be replaced by other coins

I am of the opinion that EOS would be a better alternative altcoins to the etheruem.
My submission is solely based on the fact that EOS has good use cases , the team members knows their onions when it comes to development matters.
EOS platform is making waves presently  which supports adoption.

There is possible to have another coins that could rival ETH, and i think it's will not depend on the marketcap level of a coins, it will be more for it's usability of that coins. Long ago i think waves is good, but right now it has falling a lot.

The good competitor of ethereum in my opinion is stellar. many successful projects are also on the Stellar platform. some of my projecks followed and were also successful. this is proof that stellar is actually a very good alternative

Everything all can happen but this is very hard if ETherum continues to do their roadmap and their community more and more grow up everyday

The only rivals available at this moment is neo and tron ,I don't believe much in tron blockchain but many dapps projects are abandoning ETH and going for tron but truthfully I will still choose neo over tron ,no string attached I just like neo more better
