What do you think, is the going price for a developer to turn their back on Bitcoin? We have seen people like Mike Hearn, turning their back on Bitcoin and going to work for the competition. R3 Banking Group.

Hypothetically, let's say you want to buy most of the Bitcoin developers.. What price would you think would be high enough to do that?

They say everyone has their price.  Huh

A lot of people have come and gone and I think many of them have received some better offers. Would you leave Bitcoin, if you were made a offer you could not refuse?

We are immune to this because the project is open source, so even If they leave, that wouldn't stop the development, there will be other developers who are willing to help. You know these developers are not driven by the money but by passion when you see their videos and how they talk etc.

Some developers might not be interested in other side ways projects, you can't mesure what will people do with money, you can in some situations of course but I think that few devs want to continue to be dev of bitcoin if it fulfill their purpose what ever it might be.

bitcoin is an open source project which some people are coding for. it is not a job and not a source of income, it should be that way anyways. so it is obvious that all of the programmers that work on bitcoin would take jobs with corporations to get paid to do something. i don't think we can call that "being bought".

I believe that if the developer is already multi billinaire then you won't be able to get him with money, but I assume that 99.99% of them aren't.
So yeah, everyone has a price, and for the right price you will be able to get anyone to work on any project.
It's not like the famous soccer/basketball players haven't turned their back later to a team that offered them more money, even though that the team was the biggest enemy of the last team that they were playing in and were a fan of.
Development is a job, and when it comes to job people don't do decisions with feeling.

That's why they returned back in bitcoin. They assumed that bitcoin can easily surpass but in reality, it cannot surpass by any cryptocurrency as easy as they know. Bitcoin is king of crypto and no one can defeat it.

If they would have greater offer then I think they would not waste that opportunity to have a better profit and setting yourself to a better things to do that they like It is their own decisions to make, We don't need to judge their decision it is their own life in what to do with it, The only option we need to do is hope for the better that this dip will stop and we may have another bull run this year if possible.

'Turning their back on Bitcoin' would be the last thing any of the core developers would think of as they are included under the 'early adopters' category for obvious reasons and get more fame just being in their place rather than being labelled as 'rebels'
When you realize that its not a matter of money but just the vision of making the world a better place and reaping benefits from the same, they probably would've retired with millions of dollars in their pockets, ready at their disposal.

Blockstream is already owned by big mainstream corporations like AXA.

That's why bitcoincash broke away - they felt the development line was being pushed into a direction that companies like AXA would benefit from (for example i wouldn't be surprised if AXA opened a lightning network node to handle transactions offline for a fee).

But don't you think that they are still human and can be bought. I mean no matter what it is open source or not but the thing is there are few people who are very smart enough to work on them. Sometimes someone might just innovate a piece of artwork but may turn greedy and ask for money to complete that artwork of code. For example, they are very close to development of bitcoin scale up but at the same time the person holding the key to finish everything can turn back and ask money. Is that possible? I think so that it will happen in long terms and it's all about human we can't say anything about them.

But not everyone shares the same morals as you, unfortunately. There are early adopters that made it big and only want to earn more without thinking of the reason why they were here back in the days. Some formed other factions and created their own version of bitcoin because it is what they think should be the state of the project, and not because of what everyone thinks it should be. No matter what happens, even if the devs abandoned the project for money, it would still thrive given that bitcoin is open-source.

Most Bitcoin core developers are volunteers but some are only willing to work when there is a sponsor like blockstream that will pay them. So it is possible that some of those developers will turn their back on Bitcoin if they got a job offer from a company that will pay them enough money especially if he/she gets an offer with huge salary but I don't agree that everyone has their price, some of those developers continues to code and develop Bitcoin without getting paid because it is what they want to do. To be honest if I'm one of those core developers and get a better offer, I will first try to find a company that is willing to fund the project (Bitcoin) before considering the offer.

to be a bitcoin developer I think it will be difficult because bitcoin is only developed by blockchain but if you mean bank make ICO and develop technology like bitcoin and cooperate with smart contract created from blockchain it possibly can.
