On second thought, I don't like this, especially if you try to use these notes in real shops.

I think it's ok it you give the note for free, for instance for charity.  But trying to force it into circulation is a bit too an aggressive advertisment method imo.

I'll have to agree with you on this one. Like you said, give a few dollars to someone in need and include a leaflet about Bitcoin with the cash. Maybe they'll turn those dollars into Bitcoins.

Or you could just get one of these stamps and stamp it on his forehead for everyone to read!

If anyone is planning to do anything illegal to earn bitcoins, as in graffiti on buildings, they must be very careful.  For instance, don't post on an open board like this one, your IP can be tracked, etc.  Instead, post on Frost or Freenet Message System, which are board/message systems that use Freenet to send/receive messages anonymously.  I don't think anyone will be prosecuted for defacing USD slightly, as long as the important bits are still intact.

I wonder if there could be a shorthand for a bitcoin address, like the url shortening services out there.  If you could shorten it a bunch, maybe you could write a bitcoin address on a USD bill along with "Bitcoin, a better currency!".  Then whoever sees that bill might donate a little to the bitcoin address they found on the bill. Smiley  Bitcoin addresses are anonymous, right?  They aren't easily traced to IP addresses or specific bitcoin clients, right?

I finally have a real USD bill, in almost a year.  How much BTC can I earn by writing something on my $5 bill?  And exactly what do I write on it?  I am partial to "What is Bitcoin?" on one side, and "A better currency!" on the other side, and weusecoins.com and bitcoin.org somewhere too.  But I don't want to cover up anything, just on the edges of the bill.

This is the first time I've ever vandalized a USD bill, believe it or not.  At least that I can remember.  Maybe when I was really little, but I dunno.

These pictures are from the same $5 bill, the only USD money I have.  And if you feel like it, you can send bitcoins to my Bit-Bank.org address, http://bit-bank.org/user/Krepta3000# 19ABdEVj3hoP98phetsUkCypdcXimTaY1F.  I had an account on Mybitcoin.org, but am no longer able to log in for some reason, and the only method of Contacting anyone there requires me to log in, soooooo, since my account is empty, I don't care anymore, I'm no longer going to use that site.

Err, why dont you just create a new account on the site then use the messaging system to reference your old account?

Ballpoint pen doesn't work well on Australian polymer notes Smiley

I could, I just don't want to, because I'm very irritated by that site now.  Is it really worth having a second account on a site that's not working?  Fine, it's not that difficult, I'll make another account on the fraking site.

All donations 1Eeya8PUji6kFVwQYwgwrKvv7gHkk6GAdg will go toward obviously getting me a new god damn phone, holy shit I haven't used the camera in a while, and I don't think I will be again either lol.

Not pictured is an gold arcade token that just has "No Cash Value" on one side, but is actually blank on the other.  I took a red permanent marker and put a "B" logo on it, but it fucking blows and my shit phone camera did not help, but it exists and the real "Bitcoin" with "No Cash Value" is right next to me lol

Love this thread, can't believe I kept missing it.

I've spent around ten of these enhanced banknotes so far at various places... 5s, 10s, and 20s... No cashiers have said anything about it, or even noticed.
