Bruce Wagner is hosting a Bitcoin Conference (Thursday, August 18, 2011, 9:00 AM)

I'm from Montreal and thinking of going down to new york with my wife for this event

but I'd like to see what your thoughts are.

is it worth going?

I'm on the fence.

I wish there was a more detailed list of speakers and presentations, so that I knew there was actually enough content to make it worth my while.

Right now I'm afraid that it's going to be a few people hanging out,  not knowing what to do with themselves.

If I felt like I would be busy the whole time, I'd be there for sure.

Seconded. I can't find enough information about the conference to figure out what's going on or whether it's worth my time and money to go.

my feeling exactly.

Bruce is saying lots of new bitcoin start ups will be presented at this conference
and that we will all go eat at Meze Grill.

but my question is:

will i get to party with Bruce personally?
or will be one out of thousands of people their?

either way, I'm there! it would just be nice to know..

I'd go.  Even if its just people hanging out.  I think whomever is in charge of organizing should reach out to people and see if they are willing to speak.  Perhaps pay them in bitcoins Smiley

I know most of the people here in the general area would love to present stuff about their BTC websites.

I'm actually working on something I would like to debut there, but I don't know if it will be ready in time.

You need to have someone there with a video camera to document it.  And take lots of pictures too.  This could help alot to get the word out.

I'd go.  Even if its just people hanging out.

I'd even be happy with just hanging out if it was a weekend event.  Like all day Saturday and a half-day Sunday.  But four days of that would be a bit much.

Yeah... I'd go to a one day event... I have a pretty short attention span Smiley

What the heck... That's less than 4 weeks from now - hardly enough notice.

If there had been more than a month's notice, I would have made it happen.  I haven't been to NYC since I was a little kid, I have family in CT, vacation time at work that I must burn before the end of the year, and I would love to have gone to the first one.

But this was just too short notice.

I requested time off from work just to go. I don't really care if just people hanging out and talking about bitcoin. Oh yea and it's also only about 2 hours away from where I live. Besides, I will have bragging rights because I will have gone to the first ever bitccoin conference Tongue

Sorry Bruce. As discussed in a previous thread, rename the current event "Bitcoin meetup" and from there set up organization for a larger conference. I just visited the web site a few days ago and it's exactly the same as when this conference was announced months ago.

Sorry for the delay.    Someone brought this thread to my attention.

The Conference & Expo IS happening....   and it will be HUGE.

We just finalized the venue plans -- AND the much larger alternative venue plans in case this thing becomes even larger.

I insisted, and people agreed, that we have a much larger venue lined up.... because some of the speakers we have planned are SO famous and renowned.... that if I get definite confirmation that they are coming,  we WILL need a space five times larger.

I know for sure attendees are flying in from every continent.  Some on private jets.

This will be HUGE.      No, definitely not just another Bitcoin meetup.

Major global press - tv, magazines, and newspapers, have confirmed that they will be here.

Although we announced this event, and these dates, months ago...

I so apologize for getting all the final details, schedule, speakers, venue, etc. published so late.  Been a bit busy.    Smiley     But no excuses.

We will have all details published on http://bitcoinconference.com BEFORE OUR 2PM SHOW TODAY.

I will tell you this now:   Please spread the word:

(1)   Space will be limited.

(2)   Tickets will go on Sale Friday at 10am

(3)   Be prepared to pay online with Bitcoin.   No, we will not accept credit cards,  PayPal, nor checks.  If you need help buying Bitcoin, call us TODAY !

(4)   We expect to Sell Out Immediately.

(5)   We will be collecting a waiting list via email Immediately upon us Selling Out.

BOOK AT 10am ET FRIDAY.... online at BitcoinConference.com
