BIPS to Offer 40,000+ Merchants Using Bigcommerce the Option to Accept Payments in Bitcoin

Copenhagen, Denmark - October 21, 2013 – BIPS, a Copenhagen-based payment processor targeting merchants seeking to accept Bitcoin payments, has announced that it has made integrating with Bigcommerce, a popular e-commerce platform which is used by over 40,000+ merchants worldwide, possible. As of today, any merchant using the Bigcommerce platform will be able to start accepting Bitcoin through BIPS almost immediately simply by creating a BIPS account and adding their BIPS and bank account information to their Bigcommerce profile - no additional setup, installation or coding required.

Although not nearly all 40,000 Bigcommerce merchants are expected to start accepting Bitcoin as soon as the option becomes available, this seamless integration will nevertheless dramatically lower the entry barrier for merchants potentially interested in accepting Bitcoin. Many merchants today have no problem with accepting Bitcoin in principle, but simply do not have time to set up a solution, even with the pre-made invoice pages and developer-friendly APIs that Bitcoin payment processors like BIPS provide. Now, however, if a merchant is building their online store on the Bigcommerce platform, they will be able to start accepting Bitcoin in nothing more than the couple of minutes it takes to follow the steps to go through integration process. The full instructions for setting up BIPS integration with one's Bigcommerce account can be found at http://bit.ly/19hB8rP

By accepting Bitcoin, merchants will be able to enjoy all of the benefits that the innovative cryptocurrency offers, including lower fees, no risk of chargebacks, the potential for increased privacy for customers and the ability to accept payments from over 190 countries around the world. BIPS provides a platform that allows merchants to accept Bitcoin with minimal effort and without having to deal with the difficulties of running a wallet on their own server, and its signature feature is that it gives merchants the option of having their Bitcoin earnings immediately converted to any of over 160 local currencies around the world, and deposited in their bank account at the end of each day. BIPS currently serves over 1000 merchants around Europe.

"For us, we're not just working for you - this is no passive job - we are on a mission to see our clients succeed beyond their wildest dreams and we still have this year's most intense period ahead of us," says Kris Henriksen, Founder and CEO of BIPS.

Wow, this sounds pretty exciting. Thanks for sharing. I'm not sure exactly what "40,000 Bigcommerce merchants" really looks like in practice, but this can only be good.  Smiley
