This is something not specific to Ethereum, almost all cryptocurrencies are declining at the moment. One main reason for Ethereum fell below 500 was the announcement from SEC that it will investigate unregistered ICO's and since the majority of ICO's are on Ethereum blockchain this decline was inevitable.

You are right, ethereum is following a good bearish trend and i think it is providing good buying opportunities, i will buy some now and also put buy orders at around 0.029-0.03 btc levels that seems to be the long term and solid support for eth.
