After reading several topics about how bitcoin is going down and how people are getting out it just crossed trough my mind that FUD has started to shake weak hands(again) and that in next few days bitcoin really might start going up.

Anyone share the same opinion?

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

This downward movement is heavean for good traders, even if we are in a bear market, short term profits possibilities are insane during this times, we will have green days, and even though we might not see the december highs for a while, it might be a good time for all of us to increase our trading skills. Remember, people get rich during recessions

Not many. You have to be very lucky or very skilled to try buy the dips and sell the highs in this market. The people profiting are the ones who shorted or sold near the top and are not looking for opportunities to close shorts or re-enter at lows.

It seems to be that way but I would've thought most of the weak hands would be gone by now. There's too much optimism still around, which either means we are going to recover or we are nowhere near out of the bear market yet. As bullish as I am, I'm leading to the latter, there's not enough despair and panic yet to be at a bottom.

FUD is like a shadow, it won't simply go away and will always follow us. Good that you notice that this is how the forum works in cyclical, bitcoin goes down, a lot of newbie account or even old accounts wakes up and spread FUD around the forum. But when bitcoin suddenly goes up, the exited, just lurk in the background and comes out with bitcoin is going down again.

I believed that most of them are paid schills, to spread FUD and strike fear amongst the newbies to make a sell so that they can buy bitcoin at a lower price. Its very fraudulent practice but the only way to at least prevent this is not to listen and totally ignore them.

I really don't think many people try to play the market in these conditions, it is almost asking to be burned. People get rich buying low, and selling high, do that a few times successfully and you've multiplied your money. But when the market is trading so harshly like it is now, it is very easy to catch the top of a new dip, and then be screwed.

We can't fight FUD, you are right it will always be here, but it is important not to follow it but to learn to read it.

Yes agree. FUD are those people who are ruining the bitcoin.spreading fake news . And then people who believed in them panicked and sell.their coins because of the FUD who are spreading malicious news, it will affect the price of bitcoin

Bear market means a good opportunity to get more profits from thes crashes,if you have still some spare bitcoins to get these cheap altcoins you will be making a lot of money as soon as the market has recovered, better gains from the normal market conditions.Scalping in bear market is indeed profitable if you really know what you are doing you will make money even with these bloody markets.

Yes. FUD is one of the main reasons why people get panic. But any FUD comes for some reason. Bitcoin at the moment has a good and growing community with enough potential to identify all harmful FUD. Experience is a determining factor. Some altcoins are not so lucky. New projects face much greater adversities when doubts arise.

The FUD of the last few weeks must have been scheduled. Just before the G20 discussion on cryptocurrencies, people started to spread FUD, like the Mt. Gox trustee selling out, IMF's Christine Lagarde calling for regulations, the SEC considering tokens as commodities and so on. Analysts announcing a death cross for bitcoin, spread some more fear. However, since last Sunday the price is going up again and hopefully bitcoin will reach 10K very soon.

As we all know that FUD and negativity affects the bitcoin price growth everytime this will spread especially when this will be brought up on the news and other social media outlets where people get affected and the tendency to panic. In my opinion, I would have to suggest that people should not over react when this situation comes, instead hold your coins and no to selling until the full recovery has been normalize.

yeah but the rise is happening because of the G20 result which was a good news not because FUD was spread two days ago.

but also you may argue that some people might have had some insider information about this so they foresaw the positive news and consequently the rise, so they started the FUD to crash the price further so they can buy a lot more bitcoins at the bottom before the rise happens. the drop was a big one anyways so the profit in it was huge so far.

I think what happened this late is the accident caused by many bans.
not mean fud like you mean. in every market, there is always a correction and it shows a healthy market. although not with the current situation.
but with what's happening right now, you can speculate buying bitcoin in a relatively cheap price than before.

1. The number of spawns spreading FUD has decreased significantly. From what I've read, many got banned.
2. There was a fear on what's going to happen at G20 and the news from there are quite good.
3. Most of real causes to sell Bitcoin (end of year, tax, getting the profits for 2017, maybe that gox story) have passed.

Of course, Bitcoin doesn't have to rise or fall 10% every day, the FUD was working on making those percents bigger. But I think that the normal growth is ahead us again, so you better expect again the other kind of posts "omg, bitcoin will become 1000000$ until the end of the year!" Smiley

Many people have invested in risky markets and do not care about the risks they will have to deal with, causing them to fear each time it goes down. More and more people are scared and selling everything they learn makes the phenomenon of FUD appear. But do not worry because everything is over, the market starts to flourish.
