Not bad.
Can I sell my MC for GME?
The plan is to implement a system on-site where users can buy and sell in-game goods.
A cornerstone behind this idea is that items sold on the marketplace will have all been produced in-game, no auto-generated stuff. Everything on the marketplace will have been produced, mined, or otherwise obtained through gameplay. This means no fear of players entering, dumping a bunch of coin on valuable materials and gear, and monopolizing the server. It also means the distribution of resources within the world will stay correct and prices of commodities will properly shift with supply and demand.
And it's not just item markets in the works. We're looking at transportation, enchantments, Real Estate, all sorts of ways to make Minecraft a little more interesting with the introduction of an actual economy.
- If you stumble upon some diamond, will you use it to build better tools to improve your operation, or sell them for some quick GME?
- Will you grow your own food, buy it from a supplier, or become a farmer and earn coin through that avenue?
- How about buildings? Do you want to find your own materials, or buy them from the market and get right to building? Perhaps you could hire someone else's architectural expertise for your next castle!
(It also hopefully goes without saying that Creative Mode servers will be exempted from the marketplace.)
