What's technology behind this project, Is it an ERC Token?

Correct. The MFX Token is an ERC20 token. 

The MF Mainnet (launching in 2019) will be our our platform that will be a dBFT/POS hybrid consensus method. MF Mainnet will have two tokens. MFM (Modern Finance Mainnet) and MFF (Modern Finance Fuel) tokens.  The MFX tokens will be exchanged on a 1:1 bias with the new MFM tokens. MFF tokens will be airdropped and replace the MFX token within the MF Chain rewards program.

Yes. We will actually be running a live token generation event, participants will have MFX tokens directly after contributing. All stages run by smart contract.
