Hello everybody,

I find lots of javascript online, javascript offline, online-services, armory related
instruction online.

Is something wrong with this process?

1. Boot live-cd with qrencode and only bitcoind already installed (no internet access)
2. Generate address A via getnewaddress command
3. Get private key P for A via dumpprivkey command
4. Generate qr codes for A,P via qrencode
5. Print A,P, qr codes

Looking forward to obtaining your input.

Why do you care for A? You can recalculate the public address with the private keys.

You are absolutely right.

Having A and its qr-code on paper makes it available without the need to import
its private key first, when the need to deposit arises later. I should have stated
this as use-case, sorry Sad

(iirc, an address is needed in order to dump a private key)

I dont know if my answer is offtopic but I use just VanityGen and a regular low cost printer, no Qr, no bloat, just two lines of text. Maybe a badass approach, but works.
Another day I have made a key using just VanityGen, Pen and Paper, but i dont recommend.

Your idea of using just bitcoind is very attractive, i need try !

I also use VanityGen (don't forget to use the one that generates compressed keys).

Then I may or may not use a QR code thing and make a print out of that, which I stored in a sealed envelope in my office behind a locked safe. The office is behind a locked door. The building has an armed guard.

QR code is giant sized, so it fits one address and private key per letter size or A4 page.

Not at all! Love it. Vanity addresses have a certain touch...
