Thanks, I'll add a post in your thread. I think a bit less than 8btc is a fair price because it's ungraded.

Don't really think price of BTC is linked to this (unless BTC goes to like $250 each, but it looks like it's headed there anyway). Probably $800 USD is a fair price, and convert that to current BTC spot.

Is there a deadline for offers? Are you going to auction?

No deadline yet, I'm just looking for reasonable offers. Dozerz's BTC2.5 offer was pretty low ball, I expect to get quite a bit more than that.

I was hoping to get around BTC6 or so. With these becoming increasingly more rare, I don't think that's unreasonable, even at the current price.

Not sure about them becoming increasingly rare as i don't think many of them are being redeemed. It is an interesting question though. If someone pays 5BTC for a 1BTC coin when BTC is £50 they have overpaid by £200 If price goes to £500 per BTC can you still expect 5BTC?

What I think happens is, as the value of Bitcoin goes up, the larger denominations need to be 'broken up'. About 6 months ago, these were the approximate quantity counts of each of the holo error varieties: 100 BTC holo error 22 25 BTC holo error 227 5 BTC holo error 625 1 BTC holo error 3615 Today, the counts are approximately: 100 BTC holo error 18 (decrease of 4, or 18%) 25 BTC holo error 216 (decrease of 11, or 5%) 5 BTC holo error 595 (decrease of 30, or 5%) 1 BTC holo error 3615 (unchanged, though this makes me question my 1 BTC count)

I maintain a thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=214589.msg2250539 whose aim is to bring buyers and sellers of the holo errors together. The collectible marketplace is in the birthing stages. I'm hoping that providing a centralized place for buyers and sellers, and some historical price context for the various varieties of coins can provide some stability and definition to that market. Anything that makes a market easier to get into, and more well defined, should help the market grow, and in turn, values should increase. I think of the thread as an investment of sorts. Anyway, there is a public app I've used to track the quantity of holo errors per type. I counted them up and saved them to a spreadsheet about a half year ago. I did it again a few weeks ago, and was surprised at how many had been used. I assume holders not aware of the collectible value, or perhaps redemption out of necessity. It opened my eyes to the inherent, increasing value through supply and demand both moving in the right direction for price increases. If I feel motivated some day, I'll throw the result data into a public spreadsheet, so that the counts are more precise, and it would be easy to update. Anyhow - the site is fun to explore. If I recall correctly, to get to some views, you have to change by changing the url parameters in the address bar.

It may interest some of you that the firstbits include "Foka". It could be a nice vanity address for someone!

I sold it for 4.5btc. I would have held out for more, but the price of btc is rising so fast that I don't think it would've been wise to wait much longer.

<-- also interested. If it is above 5, then to my knowledge you've broken the record for highest 1 BTC ungraded holo error: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=214589I'd love to update the 'price guide' section of the thread. Increasing, publicly-known transactions are healthy to the growth and stability of the collectible bitcoin market. Congratulations on the sale! EDIT: Looks like it fell short of the record. The Collectible Marketplace thread has been updated to include this sale in its history.
