Trading platform is not advisable to store your cryptocurrency. Better use a hardware Wallet like Ledger Nano or a desktop wallet. That way you can control your coins without worry.

I think neo wallet is simple, does not require gas for transfers and simple transactions. Sometimes for a few times it will be very difficult to sync to the network and this will make the wallet will not show the NEO
