Ever since the last rise in difficulty to 268m my 10 gh/s has not made a single payment to me on the p2pool network. Respected members of this forum have informed me that I will eventually receive my fair payout. I think it's around four days ATM without a payout.

Only the per Day is correct, because the difficulty going to increase 50% in 2 days...

How much would it cost 60Ghash worth on mining hardware right now? what hardware would you use?

I've been out of mining for a while, trying to catch up, and maybe get in again.

I gave up on GPUs and asics. Check this thread for an idea about buy GH/s online. I've got 50 or so and make about .07/day. Not great, but it's something. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=318349.80 .

On Ebay, people are paying about $1,200 per unit + Shipping...

I can just see, the sellers will be hit by Charge Backs from the credit card payment.  Some banks may honor the reversal for the payment from the Bank later when the buyer realized they just bought a fancy space heater

Damn,, some people are getting burned by these miners. By their heat (lol) and their uselessness now if you want to generate an income.
Dont bother.

People are paying crazy price still while BTC is dropping like crazy right now.

Today alone, 24% drop in value, but people who had no idea about the difficulties calculations are thinking 60GH/S will make them steady monthly income month after month @ $1,000 when this unit is more than likely stop mining BTC in 10-14 days when the difficulties hit the next level with Tsunami of 2TH/S machines hit the network on November 15...

That will give some bad names to BTC and hope it won't hurt the value too much  Sad

Or maybe the miner will get returned by the buyer, saying his account was hacked. It is quite possible that the seller will receive a brick back instead of the miner.
